Living Arrows 2015 – Week 2

When it began to snow on Boxing Day, Little Mr was having a nap in bed. I was really excited to see it come down and before long there was a beautiful crisp white covering of snow. When Little Mr woke up after an hour and a half of sleep, everything outside was covered in snow and it looked magical. I love how the sky turns a funny orange colour with the reflection of the street lights in the air and everything just looks brighter. He was mesmerised by it. It was the first time he’d seen it (although it had snowed on the day he was born and subsequent weeks after) and he was fascinated. Unfortunately for Little Mr, we didn’t have time to go outside and have a play in it as we were late for a family party but I promised him we would go out and play in it the following day. Imagine his reaction when we woke up the next day and it had all melted. I was really disappointed and felt quite sad for Little Mr that he had missed out on it.

Yesterday, Little Mr, Hubby, my Sister and Nephew all went over to Tamworth SnowDome to go and play in the snow. I had looked online and saw that they had a small play area with real snow and booked up. It was fantastic. It was cold, obviously, but we all wrapped up warm, put on our welly boots and enjoyed half an hour in the snow.

At first, Little Mr looked a little confused and couldn’t work out why it was really cold inside the building which had a roof on but soon warmed to the idea that he could play in the white stuff and have some fun.

There was a small slope inside the play area which both children and adults could slide down on rubber rings. It was hilarious to watch. Little Mr had a slide down the slope with his Daddy and his Aunty Toni as he was in awe of his cousin throwing himself down the slope at an alarming rate howling with laughter the whole way down. Of course, I’m didn’t catch any of it on camera as they moved too quick but we had fun and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves.

So, Great British wintery weather, bring on your white stuff, we’re ready for you!
