One of the new Christmas traditions that we are starting this year for Little Mr’s first Christmas is a Christmas Eve treats box. Again this isn’t a tradition that we as a family have had before, Christmas Eve with my parents was always watching a Christmas movie and eating a Chinese whereas hubby’s family always had a Christmas Eve Party at his parents house and the whole family come round for an evening of fun, buffet and family games.
We’ll still be going round to hubby’s Parents house on Christmas Eve but when we get home there will be a special little treat under the tree for Little Mr.
What’s in the Christmas Eve treats box?
In Little Mr’s Christmas Eve treat box is a small selection of goodies to use on Christmas Eve. There’s a pair of My First Christmas pyjamas for him to wear, The Night Before Christmas book to read before bed, some Magic Reindeer Food (made earlier in the week – you can find the recipe and the free printable here) to sprinkle outside the front door to guide the reindeer to our home and a small bar of chocolate to enjoy.
Both hubby and I have got new Christmas pyjamas to wear too so on Christmas Eve we will all get ready for bed and enjoy the book as a family and then prepare for Santa’s arrival. I wanted to start something exciting for him that we can continue to do over the next few years. It’s not an expensive box of treats as I want to start something that I can afford to do in the future but hopefully once Little Mr realises what Christmas is he’ll love it as much as I do.
I bought Little Mr’s box from the very talented Zoe of Bunny Delicious (sadly no longer trading) and I’m sure you’ll agree it’s beautiful and I really love it. It’ll be a treasured part of our family Christmas for many years.
