A beautiful bloom of sunshine yellow daffodils definitely brightens my living room and is also a timely reminder that change can be good..

Time doesn’t stand still, the boys are growing up super quickly and we’re entering new phases of life that we haven’t navigated before. I know it’ll all probably work out and life lessons will be learnt along the way but doesn’t mean I like it!

Master Bedroom glow up ✨

I’ve been wanting to give this panelling a go for a while and after extensive research (& plenty of Instagram reel watching) I bought all the bits and pieces I’d need to get the job done.

This wall was 3.6m wide so I needed three mdf panelling packs from @bandq_uk and I bought two lengths of moulding for the trim.

Originally we were going to use @duluxuk Coastal Grey but it looked too light in the daylight. We swapped it for @duluxuk Faded Indigo and did two coats.

I finished it with some moulding on top (just used no nails glue) and I’m so pleased with it. I’ve swapped the bed around today with the boys help and I bloomin’ love it!

AD | Yesterday we headed in to Birmingham to the super cool F1 Arcade to find out who is the family’s answer to Verstappen!

During the half-term break (17th – 21st February) children eat free with every adult meal purchased, so we hopped on the train to take advantage of what F1 Arcade had to offer. We took on the Team Racing challenge where the boys went head-to-head with us in the sims. It ended terribly for me as I just don’t drive quick enough but the boys came away feeling victorious with an almighty win!

3 years in Staffordshire 🧡

Yesterday marked three years since we moved house and I still feel so lucky that we live here. I drove home this evening under this beautiful sunset through Cannock Chase and I’m so grateful we took the plunge, packed up all our stuff and moved our lives over here. The boys are happy in their schools, loving clubs and sports and have a great set of friends. We’re still turning our house into a wonderful home and I just love the space. We’re so lucky to have all this space under these beautiful skies, I’ll never take that for granted.

A reminder that sometimes we just need to be brave and believe everything will work out in the end!

Seven 🎈

Today Freddie turned seven and we celebrated with cake, balloons and gifts! He’s been at school with his friends and had a lovely day, we’ll continue the celebrations over the weekend with friends and family..

I can’t quite believe the baby of the family is seven. He’s got a very wise head on his shoulders, he’s quick witted and a bit cheeky (which we love). He loves all things football, collecting match attax, reading books and playing cricket. He’s such a joy to be around and we are SO lucky he’s ours!

Freddie, you are loved beyond measure and I’m so proud to be your Mum (yes, the ‘mummy’ days are well and truly over 😩) wishing you the happiest of birthdays son xx

And just like that the Christmas decorations are down and stored away, the house is clean and tidy and we’re ready to kick start the new year of back to school and work routines, well after the weekend anyway!

I decided to declutter both the boys wardrobes and now have 5 full bin bags of clothes that they’ve grown out of 😯 I used to hold on to clothes that were sentimental but after clearing out our old house loft to move house I’m working on being less sentimental for a clutter free year ahead!

Next up is the spare bedroom, current dumping ground and my current additional wardrobe space 😩

2024 ✨

Lots of wonderful moments shared with family and friends as they hit celebration milestones and special occasions; we started and finished one of the big projects in the house converting our garage into the boys play room and a walk-in pantry. The boys have had a brilliant year at school with Olly heading to high school and enjoying it! I’ve loved my year at work and loving the flexibility and stability it brings.

Life hasn’t been the easiest this year with hurdles to overcome but there’s always light to look out for, small things to enjoy and be grateful for. And after all, if it costs you your peace, it is not worth your time or energy.
