Halloween is nearly upon us (31st October) and with only a few days to go, it may appear I’ve left it a little bit late to organise Halloween fancy dress costumes for the children. But all is not lost, the custom cards and photo gifts people, Touchnote are here to help. To save us from the children’s upset, they’ve created some brilliant Halloween hacks using clothing and accessories you’ll probably already have at home.
Halloween Hack Number One – The Joker
This is a super quick and easy look to pull together and it’s really effective. Children love to dress up and get their face painted so this Halloween look transforms them into the criminal mastermind, the Joker.
You’ll need a set of face paints, a red lipstick and some dry shampoo. Pull out a shirt, tie and jacket from the wardrobe and the Joker transformation is complete.
Halloween Hack Number Two – The Skeleton
A favourite character to dress up as every Halloween, the simple skeleton is a popular choice. Make your costume as simple or as flamboyant as you desire and get creative with the face paint.
For this look you’ll need some face paints, body glitter, mini heart gems (be careful not to use them on infants as they could be a choking risk) and eyelash glue. Add a black t-shirt and leggings and the look is complete.
Halloween Hack Number Three – The Ghost
This is a really simple but spooky look but is very popular with children. Grab their favourite princess dress or simply a white tee and combine it with some easy make up for a washed out, ghostly look.
You’ll need some face paints (make sure you have white and another contrasting colour), some body glitter and dry shampoo.
Ideas for your Halloween feast
Not only have Touchnote created Halloween hacks for fancy dress, but in partnership with Hungermama, they’ve created some fantastic low-sugar recipes that the kids will love. Have you seen the Shrunken Baked Apple Heads which are sure to freak out your guests at your Halloween party? They’re brilliant! There’s also a recipe for Pumpkin Pancakes which is a brilliant way to use up the flesh from your pumpkin.
These Halloween hacks are a great way to make Halloween inexpensive and inclusive for all. Don’t forget to take a photo and share the love as ‘scaring is caring’ with Touchnote. Happy Halloween!
