Nixplay Seed WiFi Cloud Frame // Review

I adore photographs. They tell a story of a snapshot in time and they can fill your life with memories, milestones and moments. I was recently asked to review the Nixplay Seed WiFi Cloud Frame which claims that I would be able to share photos instantly from my smartphone to the frame. I was excited to take a look to find out more.

Nixplay Seed WiFi Cloud Frame

The Nixplay Seed WiFi Cloud Frame is a digital frame that allows you to view digital photographs. Instead of picking just one photograph you love and adore, you can select many photographs to be shown on rotation on the frame. We were sent a black 10 inch frame which needs to be plugged in to a power source for it to work and needs a good wifi connection to receive the photographs to display. The frame has a slim, cable-stand design which means you can use the cable as a stand.

If you’re anything like me then 99% of your photographs will be stored on your smart phone so it’s a great way of transferring your photographs from your camera roll to be put out there on display. To begin the set up process, you’ll need your wifi code and a power source and you’ll also need to download the Nixplay app to your smartphone. The app is available on the App Store and on Google Play.

Quick set up process

The set up process is relatively quick and simple and within a matter of minutes you’ll be able to send photographs from your smart phone direct to the frame. The picture quality is brilliant and that’s thanks to the high resolution display which provides a clear and vivid colour reproduction. Your photographs will look just like they do in your camera roll. It also has a built in Hu-Motion sensor which detects if anyone is in the room. If so, it’ll play your photographs and if not, it’ll go into rest mode which is a brilliant feature because let’s face it, it doesn’t need to play photographs to an empty room. The frame also has a remote which not only allows you to turn off the frame but configure a range of settings and options.

Send photographs direct to the frame

One of the features I really like is that you can invite your family and friends to send photographs directly to your frame. This is a brilliant feature and would make a perfect gift for family and friends who don’t live locally. All you need to do is send them a friend request via the app to their email and once accepted, they’ll be able to send photographs direct to your Nixplay Seed Frame. They can also send you photographs direct to the frame via email, I think this is such a great feature and the perfect gift for family members who are tricky to buy for.

The Nixplay Seed WiFi Cloud Frame also allows you to play short videos with sound which is incredible! Imagine your family from across the world being able to say Happy Christmas via video on Christmas morning, or sending a video to your Parents of your little boy taking his first steps captured on film, it’s such a brilliant feature!

How much does it cost?

The Nixplay Seed WiFi Cloud Frame is available in a range of size and colour options. The model shown in my photographs is a 10 inch black frame and has 8GB of storage which is roughly 20,000 photographs. It retails at £159.99 and is available from the Nixplay online store and other online retailers including Amazon.

I love the sound of this, especially friends and family being able to send photos over too. I’d probably embarrass the teens on purpose if we had one by setting it to show baby photos when their friends were over ha! Stevie x
