Travelling with the Cybex Eezy S Stroller // Review

Cybex Eezy S travel stroller

*Product gifted for review

We have just returned from our family holiday to Gran Canaria and travelling with a 18 month old toddler means it’s pretty much essential that you’ll need a stroller to take with you. We took our Cybex Eezy S stroller with us as it’s the perfect companion for family travel thanks to it’s lightweight chassis and compact fold. Here’s why we loved it;

Features of the Cybex Eezy S stroller

The Eezy S stroller is lightweight. At just 5.9kg it’s easy to collapse down and carry. At the airport, I was able to carry the stroller down the stairs to the plane and hand it over to the ground crew to load into the luggage hold. We chose not to take the pushchair on the plane as hand luggage* as we needed a bag with all the essentials in for the flight. (*Check the airlines allowances as to whether you can take this on board the plane). My initial concern with a lightweight frame is that it might not be strong enough for everyday occasional use. How wrong could I be? The Cybex Eezy S is really sturdy and when raised it feels well built and secure. It also has a small footprint so is nippy in and around shops and was ideal for when we travelled on the tube in London during the summer holidays.

So easy to collapse down

I’ve used quite a few strollers since my boys were born and hand on heart this is the easiest stroller to collapse down and use. It’s so easy. I can do it with one hand and it collapses into a compact fold (dimensions 53.5 x 45 x 27 cm). I’ve recently taken the stroller on the train and it was great to storing in the luggage bay, most of the suitcases were much larger. On holiday, we used the pushchair during the day for day trips and of an evening we stored the pushchair under the desk in our hotel room. So convenient and it didn’t get in our way at all.

Adjustable straps and seat

Another brilliant feature of this stroller is the adjustable straps that are stitched on at the front. You don’t need to fiddle behind the seat to adjust them, simply remove the chest pads and use the toggle to loosen the straps or make them tighter. The seat is also really easy to adjust (via the toggle at the back of the seat) and your toddler can go from sitting up to lying down for a nap in a matter of seconds. We used the pushchair around the pool on holiday for nap time when we didn’t have access to our room and Freddie slept so well. The canopy on the stroller is a UPF50+ sun canopy and has an additional visor to protect from sun and wind. Again, we used the canopy on holiday to protect Freddie’s eyes from the sun and it really helped him.

At Maspalomas beach

The suspension on the Eezy S stroller makes for a really comfortable ride. There’s suspension on all 4 wheels which makes the stroller really smooth. We used it on the cobbles by the beach at Gran Canaria and it was brilliant. Pushing the stroller is easy and can be done with one hand.

Not the biggest basket but still very functional

The basket on the stroller isn’t the biggest however we did carry a huge bottle of water in it on the way home from the Spanish supermarket so it did it’s job for us there. For days out at home, it’s big enough for our hoodies, water bottles and lunch boxes so just the right size for an afternoon out.

The Cybex Eezy S stroller can also be used as a 3-in-1 travel system with compatible Cybex cots and car seats (adapters needed) and there’s a range of accessories which you can buy to compliment the stroller. I’ll be looking to purchase the rain cover and the footmuff for the winter months for those rainy and sleety school runs.

We were kindly gifted the stroller in the denim blue colour way with it’s black chassis and I love it. I think it looks really stylish and it’s certainly going to get a lot of use from us over the next year or so. The fabric covers are removable and machine washable at 30° which as a Mummy to a messy toddler is great news! If you’re travelling with a toddler any time soon or looking for a stroller that is lightweight, compact and doesn’t give you any drama, you won’t go wrong with this one. I would certainly recommend the Cybex Eezy S stroller for ease of use and functionality.

In terms of price, the prices online vary (between £159 – £206) for the Eezy S stroller but Cybex pushchairs and strollers are available from a wide range of baby product retailers.

Disclosure: I was sent the stroller to use and review. All words and images are my own.
