Here in the UK, we’ll be celebrating Mothers Day on 31st March and many of us will be thinking of our Mums, Mother-in-laws, Sisters and Grandmothers. I love that it’s a day to say thank you to them for their love and support over the last year, but I hate the way it’s become commercialised. There’s so much pressure to buy cards, gifts and spend money we don’t have. With that in mind, this year I’m supporting the initiative by WishYoo and NO MORE to think of Mum and in turn hopefully will help to break a Guinness World Record.
WishYoo and NO MORE have partnered to celebrate Mothers Day around the world with a global Mothers Day card which is completely free to sign and dedicate to our very own special Mums. The collaborative card is a charity year-round event starting here in the UK then travelling to the United States, Asia and Latin America who celebrate Mother’s Day in May and onto Argentina at the end of October. It supports NO MORE’S continuous dedication to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault worldwide.
WishYoo and NO MORE have high hopes for the global card and are hoping for over 40,000 messages to help smash the Guinness World Record. But they need your help. You can add your message and sign the card here.
I love how the card is using technology to make a positive impact and best of all, it’s free; using the power of digital technology to say thank you to our Mums and to help preserve the environment and our forests. Have you ever thought how much waste is created by celebrating these days? So much ends up in landfill because it’s not recyclable and it’s really unnecessary. I’ll be signing the card and encouraging others to join me because I’d love to tell the world how much I love my Mom and Mother-in-law, and if we can break a Guinness World Record in the process that’s pretty awesome and something I want to be a part of.
Here’s my message;
