Keeping families safe with Fairy’s click close lid

Fairy PODS

My son Freddie has just recently turned one and all of a sudden has found his feet. He’s now mastered standing up and walking so of course he wants to explore everywhere he can. He’s at that age where his curiosity is leading him to pull things off the table, pull books and CD’s off the shelves and of course, following me about everywhere to explore, even in the kitchen. The kitchen is a place where there can be many dangers for little ones, especially when it comes to washing and the products we use.

Washing is a chore I always seem to be doing. With a teething toddler and a six year old, it’s no wonder. We always try and keep Freddie out of the kitchen as we don’t have locks on our cupboard doors, but there are times when needs must and sometimes to keep the peace, he’ll sit on the floor banging a saucepan with a wooden spoon entertaining himself.

Always click close the lid

When we do the washing, all our cleaning products are kept high out of reach, even our eldest Olly can’t reach them. We have always used Fairy Non Bio for our family clothes washing. Their products have been a family favourite since Olly was born and their PODs are convenient and very easy to use. I was so pleased to see the introduction of the new child lock packs which feature a click close lid for their POD packs. The new child lock pack has a unique feature which requires an adult to pinch two clips to open the lid and access the PODs. The box lid should always be clicked shut.

Safety first

As most parents would agree, keeping your little ones away from harm is a main priority but there are times when they surprise you as they suddenly discover something new. I always keep both my boys out of the kitchen when I’m doing the laundry, not only am I’m aware that Freddie could trap his fingers in the washing machine door, but he could see me using the washing PODs and he could be intrigued. That’s why all our Fairy PODs and fabric conditioner are kept up high away from little fingers, out of sight and out of mind and only opened in the briefest of seconds whilst I’m putting a load of washing on.

Get into good habits, store them high

Children are keen explorers and always wanting to play with something they shouldn’t which is why it’s so important to get into good habits with your washing PODs, click closing lids and storing them up high. Even if you think your cleaning products are out of reach, it’s always reassuring to double check so that you can keep your family safe.

Of course, you can’t keep everything up high out of reach so the TV remote and the baby wipes are fair game!

You have to be so careful with everything when little ones are around, don’t you? This is a good idea.

Any washing things and chemicals, like chocolate ;) should definitely be kept far far up above the kids! Such an important message.

I had never thought about how we store products like this until I read a news report about an accident that happened with one of the capsules. Now, this lid is such a great idea! x

You need eyes in the back of your head with toddlers! Thankfully our washing machine is right at the back of the garage, somewher the toddler never goes
