With its lightweight rose gold aluminium frame and and khaki luxury soft quilted seat liner and footmuff, the Icklebubba Globe Max Stroller is one of the most stylish pushchairs I’ve ever come across. When it came out of the box, I fell in love, it’s so beautiful but I was also intrigued. Could the small, compact stroller compete with other pushchairs on the busy school run?
The Icklebubba Globe Max Stroller is all about convenience. At 6.4kg, it’s the most lightweight pushchair I’ve come across in my 6 years of motherhood. It’s even got it’s own carry strap and leather shoulder pad for ease of transport. One of the best features of the Globe is that it is ultra-compact when folded down (45 x 55 x 25cm) meaning it doesn’t take up loads of space in the boot of a car and can even be stored in an overhead locker in an aeroplane. How nifty is that?
It’s said to be suitable from birth until your toddler is 15kg in weight (approximately 3 years) however I think it’s definitely more suitable for an older child or one that can sit up right in the pushchair as it’s world facing only. I really like the one handed 3 position seat recline feature and Freddie has been using it on the middle recline for our trips out and about. The safety straps are adjustable with 3 shoulder height positions to suit your growing child. There is also an adjustable leg rest for lie flat or adventure modes. We have preferred the adventure mode as Freddie is far more interested in the world around him than napping currently.
The hood is a good size and can apparently be extended to prevent the sun’s harmful rays affecting your baby. As we’ve only tried the pushchair out in the last couple of months, we’ve not had the chance to see any sunshine but it’s good to know the hood gives UPF50 protection. There’s also a small viewing window in the hood so you can see if your little one is enjoying their ride.
For convenience, the bumper bar is gate opening for easy access in and out of the stroller and there’s a decent sized storage basket which is best accessed from beneath the handle. There’s also a small storage pocket on the back of the hood which is suitable for keeping all those little essentials you need when you’re just nipping out to the shops.
What I really like, aside from it’s beautiful design and stylish colours, is that you get everything you need from a stroller in one package. There’s no need to buy a rain cover as it’s included and the cup holder is a brilliant addition. I loved taking Freddie out in the pushchair and being able to take a bottle of water or a travel mug of coffee with me.
When you buy the Globe Stroller, you’re buying a package of essential goodies that include
- Globe Stroller
- Luxury soft quilted seat liner and footmuff
- Cup holder
- Rain cover
- User guide
I really like that you don’t need to buy anything additionally in order to use the pushchair all year round. The luxury soft quilted seat liner and footmuff is ideal for the cooler months and it has kept Freddie really toasty on the school run.
In my experience, the only thing that I am a little disappointed with is the height of the handle bar. It’s too low for me and would benefit from being able to raise it a couple of inches, but that’s just my opinion. I can appreciate the handle height is probably a trade off for the easy to fold, compact frame but even the stylish leatherette tan handles are a little too low for my comfort.
Freddie and I have been using the Globe for our mini adventures out and about recently, including the twice daily school run and overall, we have been impressed. Aside from the low handle height, the Globe has been a delight to use. Quick and easy to pop up and use and super quick to fold down.
The Globe is available in four beautiful colours; grey (silver chassis), denim blue (silver chassis), black (rose gold chassis) and khaki (rose gold chassis).
