Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus Infant Car Seat // Review

Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus

One of the essentials you need when you have a baby is a car seat. It’s the safest way to travel with a baby, they’re kept safe and secure, comfortable and in my experience, they help babies drop off to sleep too! We used the Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus Infant Car Seat when Freddie was born and we really enjoyed using it. It’s been a fuss free car seat that has just worked well for us as a family and here’s why;

Features of the Pebble Plus Car Seat

It’s a Group 0+ rear facing car seat and should be used with babies from birth up to 12 months old (45cm – 75cm).

Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus

The Pebble Plus complies with i-Size (R129) the latest car set safety regulations which in a nutshell means that all i-Size car seats offer ISOFIX installation, can accommodate rearward facing travel up to 15 months old and have improved safety standards for additional protection for baby’s head and neck.

The Pebble Plus is recommended for use with the 2wayFix base which is an ISOFIX base that securely connects directly into your car chassis. Using the 2wayFix base means you don’t have to worry that the car seat is securely fastened. It has a click and go mechanism which makes putting baby in and out of the car (in the car seat) much easier. Additionally, for those without ISOFIX, it can also be used with your car’s seatbelt.

Babies seem so little when they’re newborn and travelling with them can often make parents anxious. With the Pebble Plus we found using the included baby-hugg inlay allowed Freddie to lie flatter and his neck wasn’t compromised. He always used to fall asleep when travelling in the car seat which goes to show how comfortable he found it. The baby-hugg inlay is not only comfortable but it provides enhanced safety with it’s impact-absorbing material to its top side wings. The baby-hugg inlay is washable (hand wash is recommended) and should be removed from the car seat once baby is approximately 60cm tall.

With it’s three point harness, strapping baby into the seat is quick and easy. The straps sit comfortably on baby’s chest securely fastening with a click and the straps can be tightened by pulling the cord at the base of the seat.

Pushchair compatible

The Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus is compatible with all Maxi-Cosi and Quinny Pushchairs (amongst others) and we used the Pebble Plus with the Quinny Zapp Flex Plus. If I wanted to pop to the shop, I would use the Pebble Plus attached to the Quinny as it was quick and easy to use. It also helped give us an option for flexible travel and I used it on the train to London a couple of times as I could fold down the pushchair and keep Freddie occupied in his car seat.

It’s worth noting, the car seat doesn’t come with a rain cover for use with a compatible pushchair as standard but these are available to purchase online*.

The Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus is a great infant car seat for babies under 12 months. Freddie has slept really well in it when we’ve been travelling in the car and it’s been a dream to use as parents.

The Maxi-Cosi Pebble Plus retails for £199 with Mothercare and the Maxi-Cosi 2way fix car seat base is £199.
