Entertaining a baby is hard work. Freddie is into everything and loves to touch things, move things with his hands and is generally a very inquisitive baby (aren’t they all?) We were recently offered the chance to review the Skip Hop Silver Lining Cloud 3 Stage Activity Centre and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
The Skip Hop Silver Lining Cloud 3 Stage Activity Centre is ideal for babies, suitable from 4 months plus. It has been developed by Skip Hop with a paediatrician to support a whole body approach to play and learning. With a rotatable seat (a full 360 degrees) and five removable activity toys, the Activity Centre provides plenty of fun for little ones. I love that the activity centre has the swivel seat. It’s been really fun to watch Freddie discover other toys and for him to work out what to do to get around to the other toys using his feet and his hands.
The Activity Centre can be used in 3 stages which allows the product to be used over a lengthy amount of time. My issue with a lot of children’s toys is that they can be grown out of quickly and then you’re left with (usually) a bulky item to try and pass on to friends or family. I love that the activity centre is multi-use and can be played with for a lengthy amount of time.
Stage 1 – Sit, Swivel, Bounce and Play (up to 25lb)
Stage 2 – Cruise and Interact
Stage 3 – Convert to Play Table and Chalkboard
So far we have only used the Activity Centre in Stage 1 and Stage 2 modes. The legs on the activity centre are height adjustable so you’re able to make sure it fits with your child whatever their height. It’s amazing how quickly you’ll notice them grow too, as their feet begin to reach the platform more.
Freddie loves sitting in it for ten minutes playing with the toys before getting restless. He loves to move about and wants to move his feet which is where the moveable keyboard comes into play. The keyboard can be moved to the foot plate and your baby can see through the discover window that their feet are touching and playing the keyboard. It’s brilliant fun!
I love that the activity centre is very sturdy. When Freddie is cruising around the room, he often holds onto the centre for reassurance before finding his feet and making his way around the seat unit. It’s quite heavy at 6.8kg so it’s not going to fall over
I love the colours used on the Silver Lining Activity Centre, the bright yellow, grey, light blue and orange. It’s stylish and not an eye sore like other activity centres can be.
Freddie has loved playing in the Skip Hop Silver Lining Cloud 3 Stage Activity Centre, it’s been a great addition to the play room and has given me five minutes to sit down and enjoy a hot cup of tea (shock!) although it must be said that of course, parental supervision is needed at all times.
The Skip Hop Silver Lining Cloud 3 Stage Activity Centre is currently priced at £135 which is typically around the price I would expect to pay for such an item considering it’s longevity and how well it is made.
Would we recommend?
Yes, Freddie loves playing in the Activity Centre and I pop him in there to play for five to ten minutes at a time throughout the day. I love how he plays with the different toys and can easily swivel himself around in no time when you ask him a question. It’s really helped him build his confidence and his spatial awareness.
