It’s half term for us here in the West Midlands which means that it’s time to do all the things we wish we had time for during the school term. Olly is a big arts and crafts fan but it can be time consuming and messy so it’s an activity we usually spare for the weekend or lazy days at home in the school holidays. This half term, we’ve been crafting thanks to Yazoo who challenged us to have a morning of fun crafting, cutting and sticking and making as much mess as I could handle.
We’ve been working with Yazoo No Added Sugar this year to showcase how their drinks can be enjoyed on family days out, as part of a picnic or on the go. Yet they’re a great drink to keep in stock at home to be enjoyed as a snack or as part of a meal. Yazoo No Added Sugar comes in three delicious flavours; strawberry, banana and chocolate and are all naturally sweetened with no added sugars. Olly loves the chocolate flavoured drink as his ultimate favourite. They don’t need to be kept in the fridge either which is great as Olly isn’t keen on cold drinks and I can keep a couple of packs outside by the back door to save space in the house!
Easy Halloween Toilet Paper Roll crafts
With Halloween being celebrated this week, we decided to make use of all the toilet rolls that Olly had been storing up in his bedroom for an afternoon of crafting fun. We thought we could make some fun Halloween characters out of the things we had in at home. He loves nothing more than having a pair of scissors, a glue stick and a selection of googley eyes to play with so we bought all the materials we needed and had an afternoon of fun.
We decided to make a Mummy, a Frankenstein monster and a pumpkin to begin with and they’re the perfect craft for little ones as they get to be as creative as they like, make a mess and have fun at the same time.
Olly had a brilliant time playing with the card, the scissors and the googley eyes, they’re such a simple craft to play with and it uses up the toilet rolls instead of them going into the bin! We’ve made some brilliant Halloween decorations for the house now and Olly is delighted with them.
Disclosure: Thanks to Yazoo for the Arts and Crafts voucher and also for the supply of Yazoo No Added Sugar. All terrible Mummies are my own!
