Earlier this week, we decided to take advantage of a sunny September day and host a family barbecue in the garden. Having recently done up the garden and invested in a shiny new barbecue, we have been spending as much time as we can outside before the seasons change and Autumn is well and truly here. Regina had challenged us to enjoy the messiest barbecue and as much as we love a challenge, we are a family that need no encouragement to make a mess at mealtimes!
Regina are the name behind the kitchen roll that can handle mess. It’s a brand we know and love and have used for years. Having a young family, there’s always something to clean up and Regina Blitz is an all-purpose household and kitchen towel which is perfect for cleaning up spillages and sticky fingers as well as cleaning up around the house. I use it when I need to dry off the veg I’ve washed for dinner. It’s my go to when the children are eating (and in all honesty, when we’re eating too!) it’s brilliant for soaking up liquid off cooked meats and ideal for when you need to clean up fat and grease from everyday cooking.
This Summer, Regina commissioned a survey of British families to uncover the ‘stress of mess’ and the impact it has on enjoying family moments. The results revealed that the average UK parent spends almost 40 minutes cleaning up after a BBQ and over a third of British parents have put off hosting a BBQ because of the fear of the mess. I can relate to all of this and have probably (in the past) been one of those parents!
Whilst Shilts was in charge of the coals on the BBQ, I got the BBQ prep underway. We had mushroom skewers, pork and pepper kebabs, hot dogs and beef burgers. We cooked plenty to go around and as we’re weaning Freddie at the moment there was some for him to try too! We took his highchair out into the garden so he could make a mess out there instead of on our carpet. It’s incredible how much mess a seven month old baby can make with cucumber, tomato, a buttered bread roll and some soft cheese! Everything gets so sticky.
Regina Blitz is strong, absorbent and reliable which means when I want to get the food prep sorted quickly and easily, I don’t have to worry about it failing on me. There is nothing worse than soaking up a spillage and for the paper towel to disintegrate under my fingers. I cannot stand touching other peoples mess! Thankfully, Regina Blitz has a triple layer sheet making it super-strong and it has a unique emboss that helps soak up all the mess meaning I don’t have to touch it. They’re almost 70% bigger than standard kitchen roll too so you get more for your money and I like that!
The BBQ was enjoyed by all even though we got bombarded with wasps and had to retreat inside. Typically, I over-squirted the barbeque sauce and made a mess of the garden table not to mention my top as of course, I missed my mouth too! With Regina to hand, we cleaned up quickly and easily.
Regina Blitz is available to buy from all leading supermarkets and independent retailers with an RRP of £2.50.
