Being on maternity leave, my days are filled with nappy changes, entertaining Freddie, catching up on the housework and attempting to reach the bottom of the laundry basket. As well as all this, I’m also trying to have some quality time, just me and Freddie. We’ve been to some baby classes together and made some lovely new friends which has been fantastic but now they’re over, we’re keeping in touch with Mum / play dates over an Iced Coffee.
Recently Jimmy’s Iced Coffee sent me some cartons of cold coffee to enjoy. I’m quite partial to a cold coffee, being a mum of a little one, I never seem to get round to drinking a full mug of something hot anyway. I’ve enjoyed Jimmy’s Iced Coffees before and so when they sent me their Skinny version, which is just 99 calories a carton, I couldn’t wait to try it out.
Made from British skimmed milk and single origin arabica coffee, a Skinny Jimmy’s Iced Coffee is a wonderful blend to enjoy. I prefer my Iced Coffee over ice and it’s the perfect drink to enjoy with all this beautiful hot weather we’ve been having. I love a latte and it’s a brilliant low calorie option for anyone losing or watching their weight; it’s 3.5 syns on Slimming World and 3 smart points if you’re following the Weight Watchers plan.
As a Mum on maternity pay, I have to watch the pennies so there’s no coffee shop dates for me. We opt for staying at home with an abundance of toys, chilled Skinny Jimmy’s Iced Coffee straight from the fridge and some fruit to snack on. It’s my favourite way to catch up with friends and let the babies roll around with their toys on the play mat.
It’s so important to have Mum friends who just get what you’re going through. I’ve been really lucky that my next door neighbour Lucy had her little boy (also called Freddie) a week before we had our Freddie. We’ve been able to enjoy the boys milestones together, WhatsApp each other in the early hours whilst doing the night feeds and reassure each other that we’re not losing our marbles when the day hasn’t gone to plan. Sitting down for a coffee and a catch up whilst we still can is one of my favourite things to do. Before long, our boys will be crawling and then we’ll need eyes in the back of our heads.
You can buy Skinny Jimmy’s Iced Coffee from the supermarket in the chilled section for guilt free Mum dates, play dates, picnics and days out.
Disclosure: Thanks to Jimmy’s Iced Coffee for sending me the product. I have been compensated for my time and bought a ton more Iced Coffee to enjoy! All words and images are my own.
