An afternoon at Luda Walsall

*Advertorial feature

Having worked in a well known gaming establishment throughout my years as a student, I was intrigued by an invite that fell into my inbox a couple of weeks ago. I had been invited to the opening of a brand new entertainment concept from Rank Group known as Luda.

Luda Walsall

With it’s prime location, Luda in Park Street, Walsall is a brand new place to combine a bite to eat with a cup of coffee and a game of bingo whatever time of the day. Open from 7am until 11pm, Luda is open to the public to offer a cafe style setting with the opportunity to try your hand at a spot of gaming with bingo, retro computer games (think Street Fighter and Family Guy) and the usual slot machines available to use.

Luda Walsall

My first impressions of Luda was that it smelt just like any other regular coffee shop with a relaxed and friendly ambience. Although primarily it’s a gaming location, you don’t have to spend any money on the games to enjoy a mug of speciality coffee, a freshly made smoothie or try out one of their delicious cakes. There’s free wi-fi available too so you can pop in with your laptop and catch up on some work without any hassle or intimidation.

Alternatively, if you want to enjoy a game of bingo, you can walk in at any time of day and play as little or as many games as you want on the new tablet style boards (or even on traditional paper if you prefer),  it’s convenience gaming at it’s best.

I was invited to try a quick game of bingo on the new-style tablets and I have to say it was much easier to play along than with the traditional paper booklets and dabbers. The numbers were crossed off for me and although I didn’t win, I wouldn’t have had to shout “house” in front of everyone inside the store if my winning numbers had come up.

I imagine Luda will be the perfect place for friends to meet up before a night out in town, a place for the school mums to get together for a glass of Prosecco for a night off and a catch up and could even be a great location to kick off a hen party with tailored party packages available. As someone who used to enjoy a night out down the bingo to try their hand with Lady Luck, Luda has lots to offer and is a far cry from what other bingo establishments are like. A fresh, innovative approach without the tradition and stigma.

As with all gaming establishments, Luda is open to strictly over-18s only and customers are encouraged to bet responsibly. Luda is located on Park Street, Walsall.

Disclosure: I was invited to Luda Walsall to take a look and have been compensated for my time.
