We recently visited Disneyland Paris and had the most incredible time. Whilst we were there we wanted to make the most of day in the resort and booked to eat dinner at Planet Hollywood in the Disney Village.
Shilts and I had eaten at the restaurant ten years ago during our last visit to Disneyland and remember it being such a wonderful evening, we couldn’t wait to take Olly and show him the restaurant’s decor with it’s giant Shark suspended from the ceiling in the bar to all the famous movie props dotted around the restaurant.
We were seated in a fantastic booth in the centre of the restaurant and the air con was such a welcome relief after a day in the sunshine. The staff were welcoming and chatty and to our surprise it was lovely to chat to a member of staff who originated from just up the road in Birmingham. Our Midlands accents gave us away!
Treats for the whole family with the Planet Kids menu
Eating at Planet Hollywood as a family is a treat. Children are well catered for with their own menus and after a busy day sightseeing and character meeting, Olly was hungry and couldn’t wait to eat his dinner. The children’s menu comprises of a main course, a dessert, a drink served in a souvenir cup all for just €14.95. There’s plenty of choice on the menu with favourites such as chicken crunch, hot dogs and cheeseburgers for mains and ice cream, fruit salad and parfait on the dessert menu. Children can choose to drink soda, fruit juice and water with squash. Olly chose the hot dog with fries followed by ice cream.
The children’s menu is suitable for children up to ten years old and they also get to take home the souvenir cup, a Kinder egg and a voucher for free entry to Sea Life in Paris.
So much choice
The menu for adults is incredible. There is so much choice! There’s also a brilliant selection of gluten free dishes available too so there really is something for everyone. Whenever we go to a restaurant for dinner, we usually skip the starters and choose a main with a dessert and I’m so pleased we did the same here. I chose the chicken fajitas which arrived sizzling on the plate with the most mouth-watering selection of dips and salsa.
Shilts chose the grilled sirloin steak with ratatouille and a side of mashed potato. Our food came out piping hot and we didn’t have to wait too long despite the restaurant being busy with plenty of other families and school parties dining amongst the stars too. Our meals were delicious and we all really enjoyed them.
The biggest brownie dessert I have ever seen
For dessert, Shilts was a bit of a pig and ordered the biggest pudding I have ever seen. He ordered the chocolate brownie sundae which arrived in a huge bowl with a sparkler on the top. What a show stopper! Literally everyone in the restaurant watched as the waiters brought it to our table. Luckily, Olly was on hand to help his Daddy out and they both finished it off. I tried the apple crumble dessert with ice cream which was delicious.
You can order a range of drinks in Planet Hollywood including their legendary cocktails. Alcohol is off the menu for me for the next six months so I asked for a Sex on the Beach mocktail and a glass of lemonade. Shilts enjoyed a beer or two with his meal which again was really refreshing after our busy day in the park.
It’s worth noting that the meal prices are quite expensive but very competitive with other offerings from the restaurants in the Disney Village and in Disneyland Paris itself. It’s definitely worth doing your research before you go so you can budget for the meals.
We had a wonderful evening at Planet Hollywood. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and engaging. I really like it when the customer service is good and it was clear from people watching that they really engaged with everyone in the restaurant. We would definitely go back to Planet Hollywood again in the future, we had such a lovely night.
