On the second day of our Disneyland Paris adventure, we had planned to visit Earl of Sandwich in the Disney Village for lunch. With stunning views across the PanoraMagique on the lake, Earl of Sandwich offers diners their famous hot sandwiches as well as a selection of freshly made salads, wraps and desserts.
After walking around Walt Disney Studios all morning, we were all looking forward to a sit down in a cool air conditioned restaurant. There’s terrace seating outside at Earl of Sandwich too but we wanted to escape the warmth of the afternoon sunshine and sit inside.
The food available to order at Earl of Sandwich is fantastic. There’s such a good range of foods, we all were stuck for choice for a few minutes whilst we decided what we wanted. Unfortunately, my morning sickness stopped me ordering one of the hot sandwiches (which looked incredible) and I ended up ordering a Chicken Caesar Salad. Shilts didn’t fancy a big sandwich for lunch either and ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap which came with wedges and a drink.
The children’s menu at Earl of Sandwich is ideal for little ones. They can have either a sandwich, pizza, pasta or a hot dog plus a drink and a dessert for just €7.50. Olly loves a hot dog so choose a plain hot dog, a bottle of water and a chocolate mousse dessert.
After ordering our food, we made our way along the counter as they place your food on trays as it’s freshly made. We opted to sit downstairs in the restaurant and enjoyed a nice break planning our afternoon back in the park.
Our food was really nice. Olly enjoyed his hot dog and wedges (Shilts ordered him some separately as we wanted to fill him up) and Shilts really enjoyed his wrap which was just enough for him for the afternoon. My chicken caesar salad was just enough for me, had I have been feeling better I would have definitely ordered the Hawaiian BBQ hot sandwich, it sounded incredible with grilled chicken, ham, swiss cheese, pineapple and Hawaiian BBQ sauce. I’m definitely ordering that next time.
The restaurant is brilliantly decorated with a large mezzanine seating area upstairs and the most wonderful wall of fake books along one side. It gave the impression of a regal library with nods back to the Earl himself. The staff were very helpful as we got a little confused when ordering our meals but they explained everything to us and didn’t make us feel stupid.
If you’re looking for somewhere to eat without the crowds in Disneyland Paris, Earl of Sandwich is the place to be. It got busy over the lunchtime period but everyone was able to get a table and the noise level wasn’t over bearing. We had a lovely lunch in the restaurant and would definitely go back again for lunch or breakfast another time.
