To make the most of our one free day together during half term, we went into Birmingham for a spot of shopping and a tasty lunch. We had been invited to try out the lunch menu at Handmade Burger Company in the Bull Ring and having enjoyed meals at the restaurant chain before, we couldn’t wait to tuck in.
Handmade Burger Company in the Bull Ring, Birmingham is a really modern and industrial looking restaurant with seating over two floors and views out over St Martins Square. We were seated towards the back of the busy restaurant and it was clear to see how popular the restaurant was as there weren’t many free tables at all.
Olly was given a Junior’s menu to browse over and he was also given some crayons so he could colour in the combined activity sheet. There’s a Junior’s meal deal which is great value and for just £3.95 they get a junior burger, a junior side, a dessert and a soft drink.
Olly chose to have the Junior Chicken option which was four chargrilled mini British chicken fillets, served with lettuce & tomatoes and a side of chips. He’s not a beef fan so the chicken meal was perfect for him.
My husband Shilts was in awe of the menu and he really struggled to decide what to order. There is so much choice! He finally opted for one of the new additions to the menu and ordered the Blue Cheese and Bacon burger with Denver chips. He’s a real fan of meaty burgers and can’t get enough of blue cheese so he couldn’t wait to try it out.
I like to try new meals when I’m out so I ordered something from the Veggie section. I ordered the Falafel burger with a side of chips.
It was a busy afternoon so our lunch took about twenty minutes to arrive which was pretty much what we expected. All our meals were well presented and looked fresh and rather delicious.
The service at the Bull Ring restaurant is table service (whereas some other restaurants in the chain ask you to order and pay at the counter) and all the staff were friendly, approachable and couldn’t have been nicer. The vibe in the restaurant was lively and it was easy to see how popular the restaurant was.
We really enjoyed our meals; Shilts said his burger was tasty and his Denver chips were rather indulgent but amazing, Olly loved his chicken and chips and my falafel burger was beautifully spiced. It was so nice and I really enjoyed it.
We would definitely recommend taking the family to Handmade Burger Company for a treat over the weekend. A comfortable, lively restaurant, friendly service and delicious food, thank you Handmade Burger Company. What more could you ask for!
