Welcome back to #SlimmingSunday, the new weightloss, fitness and healthy lifestyle linky with me, MrsShilts and Michelle from Mummy From The Heart.
Apologies for my absence last Sunday, I was away on a hen weekend and with work and home life being particularly busy at the moment, I ran out of time to do everything. Big love to Michelle for hosting solo.
Well this week has been rather good for weightloss. I managed to lose 3.5lb at weigh in on Tuesday evening which I was thrilled with. I didn’t drink an awful lot of booze on the hen do, just a couple of glasses of prosecco, two cocktails made as part of our cocktail making class and a (small) bucket of cocktail in Reflex. I drank plenty of water too which I’m hoping helped contribute to the weightloss.
Bring on the #C25k
I’m pretty proud of myself this week as I’ve started the couch to 5k running series. It’s an app that you can you use to help you build up from walking to jogging or running 5k over 8 weeks. I cannot run for the bus, I’m far too heavy to run any distance but I really want to get my heart rate going and give myself a kick. I started on Tuesday evening straight after work and walked / jogged to my SW group which is roughly a mile and a bit away. The first session was a bit of a wake up call. I am so unfit and I looked like a big fat sweaty mess once I got to group but I was pleased I had done it.
The second session this week wasn’t any easier but I ran a different route through the park. Instead of embarrassing myself through the streets I went to my local park and ran between a set of 3 large trees. They’re across a field from each other so when I was in the throws of alternating between running and walking, I set my sights on the trees. It was a beautiful morning too and saw my friend near the end of the session so that was a bit of a boost (that someone saw me doing it and could vouch I was actually running!)
I’ve got my third session of my first week later today and I’m hoping it goes well. I really struggle with attending fitness classes and committing to anything like the gym so I’m going to do the #c25k whenever I can and also utilise the All Shape Up workouts that James has kindly given me some support with. I love that I can fit in the sessions once Olly’s gone to bed (if Shilts is out) or fit them in when Olly’s at pre-school and it’s my day off work. I’ll keep you posted with how they go!
This week we’ve been trying to stay on plan with our evening meals and vary what we’re eating so we don’t get too bored or complacent. We’ve been sent a fantastic lean meat variety pack from the Great British Meat Company to try out and so far we’ve been really impressed with the meat. We had chicken breasts, steaks and lean mince to try out. We’ve not bought meat online before, I’ve always been a bit worried about not being at home to accept the delivery (we always have fun and games getting parcels re-delivered so I worry about the food quality if it’s been in the back of a delivery van for days) but thankfully my Mom came to the rescue and accepted it for me. I’ll let you know what we think of the rest of the meat next week after we’ve used up the rest.
