#SlimmingSunday (Week 5 – 2017)

Welcome back to #SlimmingSunday, the new weightloss, fitness and healthy lifestyle linky with me, MrsShilts and Michelle from Mummy From The Heart.

Can you believe we’re into April already? Time is slipping through my fingers and it’s a little bit scary as the time is disappearing but my waistline isn’t!

Thank you to those that linked up last week, I’m so pleased people are joining in and taking the time to comment on other peoples posts. It’s great to see that people have the same desires and motivations as me too so we’re really not alone in this at all.

We’ve had a good week on plan, we made a meal plan for the week last weekend and although I didn’t get chance to write a Meal Planning Monday post, the scrap of paper we wrote our list on was firmly stuck on top of the microwave for us to keep an eye on. We have the best intentions and I’ve been staying within my syns allowance (with the exception of yesterday when I went on a spa day with my Mum and Sister and ended up eating a fruit scone with a dollop of cream and jam, feels like confession time!)

I gained 1.5lb last week which I was fully expecting so it wasn’t a shock to the system when I saw it. We went to Aria restaurant at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham for Mothers Day and it was divine. I’m yet to write about it (I need another 3 days spare in my week) but it was beautiful food and excellent service. I would love to get this extra weight off next week and will try my very best. I’ve been drinking plenty of water throughout the week and I think that’s helped with my skin too.

I have wore my fitbit all week and have been interested to see how little exercise I get when I’m at work. That’s the joy of having a desk job, being glued to your desk and with the printer being in the same office I don’t get chance to move much. The toilets are downstairs though, so with all the water I drink I do make several trips throughout the day. Not surprisingly, on my Friday when I’m not in work and catching up on all the jobs around the house, my step count is much improved. This Friday, I got the step count up to 8694 which I thought was good.

Anyway lots to improve on for next week and I’m hoping that the weather is kind to me and will be sunny and dry so we can get out more. Fingers crossed.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s fitbit doesn’t show that elusive 10,000 steps every day! I work at home and pretty much camp out on my sofa all day until it’s time for the (car based) school run. I’m lucky if I hit 5,000 steps a day during the week, maybe 8,000-11,000 at weekends. How on earth do people hit more than 10k a day!?!

Sounds like you had a lovely week with Mother’s Day and your trip to the spa. Good luck for next week!

It’s so difficult isn’t it? Seeing how little I exercise has spurred me on to do more walking though!

      • 02/04/2017 / 10:50 pm

Yay, get walking, it does make a real difference. I’m quite good with my steps but not so much with the food! I do remember how hard it was when I did a desk job though, keep with it. Mich xx

Excited to take part this week, thank you so much for hosting! I’m the same when it comes to lack of exercise when I’m at work, but over the past two weeks I’ve really made it my mission to hit 10k steps every day and now go on walks in the evening around where I live to get some extra steps in – it is so hard when you’re at a desk all day though! xx

I knew my exercise was rubbish when I’m in work but I’m a bit shocked at just how rubbish it is. Definitely need to add some family walks into our daily schedule somewhere.

I’m linking up for the first time this week, I’m an old SW fan having lost years ago with them but its time for me (again) to get back to target!

  4. 03/04/2017 / 7:07 am

It was a desk job that saw me put on weight again. I lost 6.5st and kept it off when I worked long hospital shifts on my feet, but as soon as I wound up behind a desk I’ve been struggling. Walks at lunchtime help, as do a quick circuit of the floor/stairs as a break. Being organised about food is a massive help, meal plans are my saviour!

  5. 09/04/2017 / 3:18 am

I barely get past 3000 steps on a work day. There just isn’t the time is there.

I am going to try and do the couch to 5k 3 evenings a week as I really only have 30 minutes or so xx

I'd love to hear from you
