I love online shopping and always love finding new online retailers. I was recently introduced to UncommonGoods, a small online retailer based in Brooklyn, New York who stock unique eclectic, creative pieces straight from the designer.
UncommonGoods are working hard to ensure sustainability is part of their business model and they’re being socially responsible and as environmentally friendly as possible which is refreshing to read. UncommonGoods have recently started shipping to the UK and I’ve loved having a good look around their online store favouriting some unique interior pieces for the home.
Unique pieces for the home
Centrepieces for coffee tables are always a great idea to draw the focal point back into a room. I love simple ideas that look stylish and when I spotted this succulent felt centrepiece, I loved it. I love that it’s so beautifully made and because it’s made out of felt, you don’t need to do anything with it; no watering, no sunlight and it’s already beautifully arranged. This would make a really lovely gift for a friends new place or a little treat for your own home.
Sharing my home with my husband and our little boy means sometimes, I have to incorporate little touches that make them smile and this robo lamp would do just that. I love how quirky it is. Handmade from ash wood and cast in copper plate, this would brighten up any bookcase and would be a great idea for a gift for Fathers Day.
Since having shelving installed in our living room, we are moving all our books from around the house into one central place. These vintage camera bookends are the perfect addition to our new shelving and I think they would look absolutely fantastic sitting up high among all our books. With my husband’s graduation coming up in September, these would make a fantastic gift to remember such an occasion.
I really love seeing words on display throughout the home and when I saw this wooden cursive display, I knew it would make a really lovely piece for the home. Handmade in Chicago, this ‘you are beautiful’ sign would be a lovely reminder to smile every morning.
I’ve loved having a browse online at the unique pieces available from independent artists and designers. If you’re looking for something stylish and a little bit different from what you’ll find on the UK market, then UncommonGoods is a great place to start.
