Thank you to everyone who linked up last week, it was great to find new blogs and found out about everyone’s diet and fitness journey’s. I’m looking forward to fining out more about you all as we progress throughout the year.
It’s been a bit of a hit and miss week for me. I had a fantastic weekend last weekend as I spent Saturday with my friends who I’ve met through Slimming World and Instagram. We were brought together at Slimming World HQ back in November for the bloggers Christmas lunch and we have kept in touch and become really good friends. We had afternoon tea (not so SW friendly) at the Hyatt hotel in Birmingham which was divine. I’ll be writing all about that in the week so pop back for a read once the post is live. We then had a night out in Birmingham which was brilliant, I am definitely getting too old for clubs these days and much prefer a chilled out bar with music that’s not too loud so I can chat properly to my friends.
I’ve had ridiculous toothache too this week which has left me unable to sleep properly and irritable. Thankfully I’ve had some treatment but still suffering from the after effects of it. I’m lethargic and hungry all the time at the moment (turns out you can’t eat much when you have toothache) and to add insult to my misery, it’s star week too so my body is craving all the things I shouldn’t really be having.
I’ve been drinking lots of water this week and can highly recommend these water bottles from Hydratem8. They’re a bit pricey but really do help me with my water intake. I’ve been drinking at least 3 of these every day and I’ve really noticed how a difference with my skin. It all helps with flushing everything out too!
I lost 0.5lb at weigh in this week which I was pleased with. Following on from the weekend’s indulgent afternoon tea, I got straight back on plan and tried to do a bit of damage limitation. It worked and I lost a teeny tiny half a pound but I’m still grateful it was a loss.
It was taster night in group too as it was awards night, the winner of our groups Greatest Loser was announced and I’m delighted to say that I was awarded the title. It was a bit of a shock as I wasn’t expecting it and fully expected someone else to receive it so it was a lovely surprise. I’ve written more about it here if you fancy a read.
Hopefully with the weather turning spring like, I’m hoping to get out more of an evening and get some steps in. I don’t get chance to do much walking throughout the week but I’m hoping even 15 minutes of walking will help.
That said, I’m not expecting great things to happen on the scales this week as my body holds onto lots of water during my time of the month. Water retention is such a pain but hopefully it’ll settle down towards the end of next week.
