This weekend we have been away on a little mini break to the seaside. It’s our first trip to the coast this year and although it was absolutely freezing, we knew that if we wrapped up warm and didn’t stand still for too long we could enjoy some vitamin sea and go shell hunting on the beach.
We were recently sent some new season jackets from Blacks and Millets to try out and as we knew we were going to spend some time at the beach, we packed them in the car along with our hats and gloves for the opportunity to go and shell hunt and explore.
We stopped off at Littlehampton beach where we saw these beautiful multi-coloured beach huts. I just adore beach huts and these ones looked so good against the dull snow filled sky, they literally just popped out at you. I can only imagine the fun families must have from these beach huts in the warmer weather.
Olly is wearing a black hooded Peter Storm boys’ Stag jacket which is padded, perfect for staying warm against the wind chill on the beach. Greg is wearing a Berghaus Men’s Stormcloud Jacket which is waterproof and lightweight. Whilst we were out on the beach, the weather turned a little more wintery than we expected with sleet and snow showers but luckily we were wrapped up warm and had our waterproofs on.
Greg really loves his Berghaus jacket. We love the colours and it’s such a practical jacket with zipped pockets and an adjustable hood to help keep out the wind and rain.
I was sent a Berghaus Stormcloud Jacket in a gorgeous plum red colour. I love that it has a hood with adjustable cuffs and zipped pockets which is very useful especially on the school run or for keeping hands full of pebbles warm on the beach.
We had a lovely hour on the beach at Littlehampton. It was practically deserted and the tide was out so we could hunt for sea shells and have a look in the little pools of water dotted around the beach.
We love to explore the beach and have made a tradition of visiting the beach in February over the last few years. We don’t let the cold weather spoil our fun, we just wrap up warm and get out and enjoy it. Bring on the cold!
With thanks to Blacks and Millets for sending us our jackets, where do you wear yours?
Disclosure: We were sent the above jackets in exchange for this post. All photos, red noses and words are our own.
