#WeKnowWhatMatters with Holiday Inn Express

With Christmas just a few short weeks away, my focus shifts from buying and wrapping presents to making plans for how we’ll be spending time with our families this Christmas. It’s usually a logistical nightmare but plans always pan out the way we want them too.

Christmas is a huge family occasion for us. We love to spend quality time with family seeing our Parents as well as seeing our Grandparents, siblings and their partners and children too. Christmas is a time for us to come together and share a meal together, catch up on news and just enjoy each other’s company.

This year Holiday Inn Express have launched their #WeKnowWhatMatters’ campaign. Over the festive period, people from all over the world choose to stay at many of the Holiday Inn Express hotels whilst they’re visiting family but they also know that not all families will be able to see each other this Christmas.

WeKnowWhatMatters

With this in mind, earlier this month Holiday Inn Express surprised three families reuniting them with loved ones who live on the other side of the world including Australia and the USA. A rare opportunity to spend time with a much loved sibling or parent, a chance to catch up and just be with that someone one special.

You can watch the moment these families were surprised in this tear jerker of a video below;

When I first met my husband’s family, it was apparent quite early on that family is a huge part of Christmas and it was something that I really loved. Over the years, my own extended family have moved around the country and it’s not always been easy to get together. My husband’s family have a pre-Christmas meal at the start of December where we all meet at a local Country Hotel and enjoy a slap up meal together. It’s a fantastic afternoon and we always exchange Christmas cards and gifts and it’s usually the first Christmas party of the season.  On Christmas Day, we spend our time with both our immediate families taking turns to visit Parents for Christmas lunch each year. It’s a way of being able to spend the special day with both our families and we both my husband and I take it in turn to do the driving up the M6.

    This is such an amazing and special thing for Holiday Inn Express to do. I saw the video the other day and it brought tears to my eyes. My husband’s family live over 4 hours away in South Wales, and we always choose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express x
