With just five weeks left until the big day, my attention is well and truly Christmas shaped. I cannot wait to start wrapping up the presents, (once I’ve finished buying them of course), I cannot wait to decorate the tree and put up the twinkly lights outside the house. I cannot wait to make some mince pies and slurp on warm mulled wine. Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year but what do I want to for Christmas.
As it was my birthday in early November, I was lucky enough to receive some really lovely gifts so compiling a Christmas wishlist for me is always really difficult. I’m not a hugely materialistic person, I don’t lust after the latest gadgets but I do like to live an easy life and with that in mind, here’s my Christmas wish list including a couple of things I’d like but can’t do myself;
A hair cut and colour
My hair is driving me mad at the moment. It’s an awful colour and really needs a good re-colour. I’m grey in places, my blonde highlights have grown out and my re-growth is shocking. I would really someone to take control of my hair and tell me what hairstyle would suit me and give me a new look. I’d love a silver grey short pixie cut but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to do it!
2017 Life Planner
I used to pride myself on my organisation skills, I knew exactly where everything was, I was never late for sending birthday cards and always knew when family appointments were. But since having Olly back in 2013, my brain seems to have gone to mush. I’d love to get a life planner for next year to fill in all the memorable dates, addresses, key contacts and have a planner where I can write everything down in one place. I love the Erin Condren planners that are very popular in the States and I might just have to treat myself for my sanity.
Re-decoration of my lounge
I have all the plans to re-decorate my lounge; I have lists of jobs I want done, I even have a Pinterest board with colour swatches of paints for the walls, a collection of furniture pieces I would like to buy for the room and ideas for how I want to display my photographs on the walls, I just don’t have the time to sort it out this side of Christmas. I would love someone to take control of the project and just get it done for me. I’d love Challenge Annika (remember that TV programme or am I showing my age?) to come over and sort it out for me.
A make up lesson
I’m not a massive fan of make up but I do like to wear it occasionally. During my teenage years, I was a bit of a tomboy so didn’t get obsessed with make up and didn’t spend time perfecting my look. I would love a make up lesson with a Bobbi Brown or MAC consultant to show me how to make the most of my features. I don’t want a full on make up routine, I’d just like a quick and easy way of looking more alive in the morning.
I wish I enjoyed cleaning as much as I enjoy blogging. For my birthday my Sister actually gave me a voucher for her cleaning services for 24 hours. She’s not a cleaner by trade, she just loves cleaning so she’s given me some of her time to get our house ship shape. When my Sister can’t come round, a Kobold VR200 Robot Vacuum would be a great addition to the home, as it’s automatic it would vacuum around the home without us even being home.
Frothy Coffee Machine
I do love a good cup of coffee and have recently moved from drinking coffee granules to powdered coffee. I have seen a couple of machines that can make you a great cup of coffee as well as having a frothy milk accessory which I would love. I’d love to make my own Costa style drinks at home.
What do you want for Christmas? I’d love to hear what you’d like to find under the tree.
Disclosure: The team at Vorwerk asked me to take part in their #AllIWantForChristmas campaign, designed to uncover what is on the ultimate Christmas wishlists of some of the UK’s top parenting and lifestyle bloggers in the run up to this year’s festivities.
