As a family, we love to travel. We love to see new places and do new things, we love to explore new beaches, drive up windy country lanes and explore new villages spotting little houses that we’d love to buy (but could never afford) and imagine life living in a quaint village with a little tea shop and local pub. Whilst we love to explore our the UK, seeing the wider world is something that we’d really like to do.
It’s crazy to think that Olly has been to more countries in his three short years, than I had been in the first fifteen years of my own life. Olly’s first trip abroad was to Majorca with me and a select group of bloggers. He was only 7 months old and we were invited on a press trip during my maternity leave. It was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up, although I was nervous taking Olly on the trip alone, it was fantastic. Olly got his first ever passport and enjoyed his first ride on an plane by sleeping all the way through it, ha!
In his second year, we took Olly to Turkey with my sister and her family. It was a brilliant week away in the sunshine and Olly and his cousin got to spend some quality time together. We got to watch the sunset from the beach in Side and tried many Turkish delights from the hotel buffet. We had a great holiday together and made many happy memories during our week away. This is an opportunity you cannot miss, so I’d recommend looking about other parts of the country you can visit and start creating your own happy travel memories.
We also stayed in Wales and had a fantastic couple of days by the sea. We spent the whole day on Llanelli beach, Olly collected pebbles and listened to the sea through a shell to his ear. It was freezing cold, in mid February, but we all wrapped up warm and it was such a great few days watching Olly explore the beach and build sandcastles.
This year we went abroad to Fuerteventura for a weeks holiday in the sunshine. We had such an amazing holiday, Olly braved the water and built his confidence up in pool. We watched the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean and saw wild stingrays swimming in the harbour in Morro Jable.
As the year draws to a close, we’re hoping to explore a bit more of the UK with a few breaks away. We’d like to travel further next year and we hope to visit some European cities and tick some more countries off our family bucket list. We’d love to go to Amsterdam, visit Sweden and Portugal. Olly’s already planning what he’s taking with him in his Trunki and of course, Little Ted will be coming along too! We can’t wait to share our adventures with you.
