Mums night off with Anthony John Salon

Anthony John SalonsLast week I was invited to Anthony John Salon in Lichfield for a Mum’s night off. The salon had invited me to spend the evening with their stylists to learn some tips of the trade, get some advice on my hair troubles and find out why the salon stands out above the rest when it comes to customer service.

The salon, set in the Heart of the Country Shopping Village, looked really stylish from the outside so I couldn’t wait to go in and meet the team. As soon as I walked in, my nerves disappeared as I was greeted by Faye and salon owner himself, Tony who were both very welcoming.

The inside of the salon is beautiful, it’s a real slice of luxury where clients are made to feel welcome, encouraged to relax and really enjoy their hair care experience. There’s lots of space so clients can relax and feel at ease in the surroundings with the most beautiful balcony area upstairs where clients who are having hair treatments can enjoy the facilities and help themselves to a range of complimentary hot and cold drinks whilst surfing the net with their free wifi access or taking five with a magazine.

I was invited to discuss my hair woes with stylist Amelia (who has the most beautiful hair cut and colour ever!) and assistant Emma. I spoke about my thinning hair concerns and was offered some advice on how to make the most of what I have and how I can help my thin hair by using hair thickening products from Kerastase and utilising some blow dry techniques to achieve volume.

Emma washed my hair and gave me a wonderful head massage. It was so relaxing. Amelia gave me some brilliant tips on how to use the hairdryer to achieve better results and how to curl my hair instead of straightening my locks all the time. She also gave me some ideas on how to use a diffuser and embrace my natural wavy hair which I’ll be trying out when I get chance.

I next sat with Tony who gave me a cut and colour consultation. He thought I had great hair which made me smile and I spoke to him about my thoughts of having my hair cut short and being dyed a different colour. He thought I could carry off a shorter look and advised I could go one shade darker than my current hair colour (which is mostly dirty blonde and grey!) and up to ten shades lighter. This definitely gave me food for thought!

To round off the evening, I got the chance to have my hair examined up close and personal with Faye, who used a special Kerastase camera that could magnify my hair and scalp up to 400 times to really see the state of my hair. Thankfully, my hair is in good condition and having seen the image of my hair and scalp on the camera, I found the whole experience really fascinating.

That’s my hair up close in the viewfinder on the camera!

I was kindly given a Kerastase goody bag to take home with more information about the salon and I was delighted to see the price list included which is actually really competitive with local salons in the area. I am hugely tempted to go back and see the team to go and brave the chop, I’m just plucking up the courage to take the leap of faith to get it done.

If you’re looking for a new hair salon in the Midlands, I would definitely recommend the team at Anthony John Salon. They were so friendly and knowledgeable, I felt at ease and comfortable in their company and confident that they would really look after me as one of their clients. Watch this space to find out if I brave the chop!

Huge thanks to Tony, Amelia, Emma, Faye and the rest of the team at the salon. I had a wonderful evening and although there was no pressure to write about my experience, I thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted to tell you how I got on.

The salon looks beautiful – so much character! It’s lovely to be able to chill out in the salon on your own for a couple of hours isn’t it?! x
