Happy Monday! Another meal planning Monday but one that is most definitely seeing the change of the season. Autumn has well and truly arrived and that marks a shift in pretty much everyone’s eating habits; cold, crisp weather calls for piping hot soups, big bowls of heart warming stew and comfort food (slimming world friendly of course).
This week has started off really well. Today (Monday) I’ve been to master chocolatiers Thorntons, for a blog event. I was invited along with a select group of fabulous bloggers for an exclusive behind the scenes tour. I can’t wait to tell you more about it but for now, check out my Instagram for my sneak peek photo of the chocolates I made!
It’s business as usual for the rest of the week with work and pre-school for Olly. Thankfully, he seems to be getting more used to the idea of going and staying there now so we haven’t seen tears for a few days which I am hugely relieved about. A happy child going into school makes it so much easier leaving him there and sets me up for a good day in work.
Here’s what’s on the menu this week at home…
SW Cheese and Bacon burgers with salad
Meatballs, mash and vegetables / SW barbecue chicken and salad
SW Lasagne (a new recipe to try out)
SW Chicken Curry and boiled rice
Sausage, mash and vegetables / SW sausages, boiled potatoes and veg (for me)
I’ve decided it’s definitely time to get the soup maker out again and make up some filling soups. Even though the sun was shining today, there was a definite chill in the air. I’m going to make some Leek and Potato Soup as well as a Broccoli and Potato version (I’ll write up the recipe one day too) for lunches this week and I’ll throw a bit of speed in by adding lettuce when I’m at work, random combo I know but it works!
