My ‘Going Out’ Mum Style | Simply Be review

*Collaborative post

It took me quite a while after having my three year old, Olly to find out what my ‘new’ Mum style was. I didn’t really know how to dress for my post-pregnancy mum bod and it took quite a few (very) bad outfits to figure out what I wanted to wear and what I felt comfortable in. One of the brands that I’ve always been able to turn to for outfits that have always fit well and made me feel like ‘me’ is Simply Be, a brand renowned for their plus size women’s fashion.

Simply Be

At the beginning of August, my husband and I celebrated nine years of marriage and we went out for dinner at our favourite restaurant in Birmingham. I knew I wanted to wear something dressy but as it was a Sunday afternoon I didn’t want to go over the top.

After browsing a range of going out tops on the internet (because getting time to actually go out shopping is rather rare these days) I saw this beautiful embellished shoulder vest and fell in love with it. When it arrived, I really loved it. It’s a long jersey black vest with pretty embellished  shoulders and it just feels really good to wear.

I teamed the vest with a pair of ‘Chloe‘ super stretch skinny jeans in black and I loved the way they fit. I don’t usually get on well with skinny jeans as they’re always a bit too tight round the top of my calves but these skinny jeans are a great fit and not too long or too short.

I also selected the ‘Sadie‘ relaxed slim leg jeans in grey wash and I love how these jeans fit. They’re quite light and they’re the first pair of slim leg jeans that I’ve been comfortable with. I love the turn ups too!

Simply Be Going Out Outfits

Any new outfit needs a new pair of shoes so I chose these trendy Sole Diva pointy toe pumps in black with a flash of gold running over the toes. They’ve got a little strap around the ankle so they don’t fall off and I think they look brilliant with my going out outfit.

I really love my going out outfit and have worn it twice now over the last few weeks. I feel comfortable and every Mum loves a bit of bling to make her feel brilliant.

You look beautiful and confident too – happy anniversary! It took a while for me to develop my own style but I am definitely a wrap dress kind of girl :D

Yuo look great I love your picks. I’m with you on the skinny jeans not usually a fan as I find them really uncomfortable. I love Simply Be but I’ve not tried their skinny jeans yet might have to give them a try #triedtested

You look fab. My wardrobe is definitely lacking in “going out clothes” these days – I just don’t get out enough to really justify buying stuff I guess.
Thanks for sharing on #TriedTested this week x
