It’s all change here in the Shilton household as our little Olly is off to pre-school for the first time ever so Meal Planning Monday is more important than ever right now. My hours at work are changing and I’m now a Mum who can do some of the school run. As a working Mum, I’ve always wanted to be able to do my bit with taking Olly to pre-school and picking him up, I can’t wait to get involved and meet other Mums and find out who his new friends are.
But something’s got to give and it’s my hours at work which means we’re going to have to be more organised with mealtimes, pick ups and housework. Twice a week, my husband will be cooking the dinner as I’ll be on my way home from work so we’ve made a quick and easy meal plan for the week ahead and it’s looking a little bit like this;
Sausage, mash and veg / Faggots, mash and peas (for the boys)
Slimming World Chicken Chow Mein with noodles
Slimming World Chilli Con Carne
Warm Chicken Caeser Salad
Homemade pizzas (I’ll be using my HEXB allowance for a wholemeal pizza base)
Steak, Actifry Chips and salad
Our morning routines will be changing too as we’ll be eating breakfast before we go to school. I’ll probably stick to my usual combo of either Fruit and Fibre, Overnight Oats or All Bran Golden Crunch with fruit or a yogurt washed down with a hot mug of tea.
I’m trying to cut out sweetener at the moment as it’s been giving me the most horrendous headaches and I’ve felt really ill with it so I’ve been going sugar/sweetener free in my tea and it’s hard going but so far so good. I do like a good mug of coffee too but only usually when I’m a little sleep deprived.
Fingers crossed the week goes to plan, it’s going to be trial and error but hopefully there won’t be too many errors.
