Back in early June, my little family and I went on a fabulous holiday to one of the Canary Islands. We spent a week on the island of Fuerteventura and it was everything we could have wished for. It was hot, sunny and full of long, lazy days spent as a family enjoying our time together.
Whilst we were there, I took over 700 photographs on my iPhone and digital camera. I love taking photographs and it’s something that is being mirrored by my three year old who is also loving being able to pick up a camera and snap away. Holiday Extras very kindly sent us a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera to take on holiday with us and we managed to take some fantastic instant polaroid photographs which we managed to bring home in one piece to stick in a scrapbook which is being decorated by Olly.
We were asked by the team at Holiday Extras to create a scrapbook full of holiday memories during our week away, so we collected little bits and pieces to add to the scrapbook as souvenirs and momentoes. We kept our airline baggage tags and boarding cards too! Holiday Extras love to extend the holiday feeling with helpful Meet and Greet car parking services at the airport and access to holiday lounges to begin the holiday as soon as you get to the airport. They can also source deals on hotel stays so you don’t have to end your holiday when you arrive back at your home airport.
As we were staying all inclusive on our holiday, we had to wear coloured wristbands. We cut these off at the end of our holiday and put them in the scrapbook to remind us of all the lovely food and drink we consumed.
We kept the check in card from the hotel and somehow managed to bring back the notepad from the hotel bedroom drawer. Olly did draw us some brilliant people on the notepad but we think the maid must have thrown them away as sadly, they didn’t come home with us.
As well as photographs, we bought a couple of postcards from the hotel shop to stick in our scrapbook. We love the first postcard as it shows just how mountainous Fuerteventura is. Those mountains were enormous and wonderful to look at as we travelled around the town.
Olly loved taking the Fujifilm Instax camera around with us on holiday and he asked me to take plenty of photographs of him on his holidays. Unfortunately, silly Mummy didn’t check the settings on the camera when we were outside so some of the snaps are over exposed thanks to the beautiful sunshine!
If your little ones are taking an interest in cameras, I highly recommend one of these little gadgets. Great for showing kids instantly what photographs can do and capturing the moment and extending the good feeling your family holidays bring.
With thanks to Holiday Extras for sending us the goodies to create our Fuerteventura holiday memories scrapbook, we have really enjoyed putting it together.
