National Sea Life Centre Birmingham celebrates 20 years

This coming Tuesday, the 5th July, the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham, marks its 20th anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, the first 100 people who visit the attraction on Tuesday can get in for just £5.95, the entry price back in 1996. Visitors will also receive a limited edition golden anniversary pop badge and what’s more, visitors born on 5th July 1996 can also get in free!

There’s no celebration without birthday cake and so the fish will also receive some delicious slices of birthday cake.

Amy Langham, General Manager at The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham, said:

It’s incredible to have reached such a huge milestone and it is an honour to be part of such a dedicated, hardworking team. We’re now home to over 2,000 sea creatures from all over the world’s oceans and we continue to go from strength to strength each year.

“We knew we would have to up the ante to celebrate this fantastic accolade and that is exactly what we have done, with the arrival of two brand new attractions. One being the 360 degree ocean tunnel, which is now completely transparent throughout and allows our guests to look into the world’s oceans. The other is Clownfish Kingdom, which features an array of interactive tanks so visitors can get close to some incredible underwater species like Clownfish and Blue Tangs.”

The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham has also recently launched brand new Behind the Scenes Tours which we are visiting next week. This special package can make the perfect addition to any day out and for just £3.50 per person, guests will be able to journey deep behind the scenes with one of the expert aquarists to discover how the attraction cares for the thousands of marine and fresh-water creatures that live there.
