I really love my time off with Olly. Every Friday, we try and do something together and as the sun was shining we spent a couple of hours in a local park. It was lovely to see him play and enjoy the surroundings. I’m soaking up all these little afternoons we have together as from September he’ll be off to pre-school and I’ll really miss them.
We enjoyed playing in the sand, going down the slides together and bouncing on the trampolines and we even had to apologise to the ducks in the lake as we didn’t take any bread for them, oops bad mummy!
This week I’ve been sent a couple of books from Watkins which I have really enjoyed reading. The Gratitude and Living in the Moment books by Dani DiPirro are full of inspirational quotes and thought provoking questions to really get the mind thinking. I have a lot to be thankful for and reading these books have helped me this week put a few aspects of my life into perspective and to stop dwelling on stuff I can’t control.
“Today I am grateful for the ability to give”
These would be perfect little presents for like-minded folk who are interested in raising smiles and being content with what they have in life. Available from Watkins Publishing at just £5.99 each.
I saw 24 hours in A&E on catch up this week and one particular moment in the episode really stuck with me. A lady had to ask her poorly husband what his wishes were if his heart stopped whilst in hospital. Would he want to be resuscitated or not? The gent remarked that if he didn’t have any quality of life or couldn’t communicate then he wouldn’t want to be resuscitated and I know it’s not a very nice question but it’s good to know what your loved ones answer would be. It made me well up and realised that it’s important to ask the hard questions for peace of mind.
We visited Sea Life Birmingham on Saturday morning for their new Mister Maker event. Olly loves the Sea Life centre and it was great to see Olly get excited about making some crafty items. He made a fish and a shark and was able to bring home the craft goodies to make a crab. Cool eh?
I bought a new navy textured jacket at the weekend from Next which I loved. It was a bit pricey for a jacket but I figured I keep them for so long that it’ll pay off eventually. It’s quite a smart jacket and I wore it for work on Thursday and really liked it.
With Euro 2016 just around the corner, Olly and hubby have been collecting the Panini Euro 2016 football stickers. It’s something I did with my Dad when I was younger and I have some brilliant happy memories collecting the stickers and it appears Olly is loving it too! He calls them Walsall stickers as Walsall are the football team that he supports with his Daddy. He gets so excited when we mention buying a packet or two and his enthusiasm for opening the packet is very cute. It’s the small things!
