Review: Graco Milestone All-In-One Car Seat

Graco Milestone All-In-One Car Seat

We were recently sent the Graco Milestone All-in-One car seat to test out so last weekend when we borrowed a family friendly Vauxhall Mokka car, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to put it through it’s paces.

Graco Milestone All-In-One Car Seat

The Graco Milestone All-in-One is a car seat that is designed for babies, toddlers and beyond. It’s a multi group car seat that can be used as a rear facing infant car seat for babies (weighing up to 13kg) changing to a forward facing car seat utilising the 5-point harness (9-18kg). Ultimately, the car seat transforms into a high back booster for children weighing between 15-36kg and you use the car seat belt to buckle the child in.

After taking the car seat out of the box, it looked good. With it’s side impact protection and multi-position headrest, the Milestone looked like a comfortable seat. I was also impressed with how easy it looked to transition the car seat between the stages.

We removed all the padding that comes as standard and followed the instructions to transition the car seat to the Group 3 high back booster. Initially we were going to test the seat out as a Group 2 car seat using the 5 point harness but Olly’s getting increasingly frustrated with the harness so we checked all the guidelines and made sure he was within the safe limits of the Group 3 user bracket which he was.

One of my main frustrations with car seats that promise to be multi-group is all the faffing about with the harnesses and the headrests. The Graco Milestone All-In-One Car Seat takes all the hassle out of transitioning between the stages and simply lets you move the harness out of view and safely stowed away behind the padding in a hidden channel.

The harness buckle is safely stored in a little storage box built into the base of the car seat without the need to remove it from the car seat. There’s no need to rethread the harness, it’s just simply moved out of the way. It’s a really cleverly designed seat and would make it much easier for a parent to use between children of different ages.

There’s several guides on the car seat that indicate to the user what mode it is in. A feature which is so simple but equally reassuring.

The headrest on the Graco Milestone All-In-One car seat is multi-positional, there are ten positions which are easily achieved by squeezing the red button at the top of the headrest and lifting up to the desired position. If using the car seat with the harness, you can adjust them both together using the red button. Another great feature taking the stress out of making sure the car seat is suitable for the child using the car seat.

To install the high back booster into the car is quick and easy. The car seat rests on the chair in the car and the seat belt is threaded through the red guides on the Milestone car seat and over the child into the seat belt buckle.

We used the Graco Milestone All-in-One car seat over the weekend and throughout the week and Olly finds it really comfortable to sit in. He really loves the arm rests on the side of the chair and the addition of the cup holder is very useful and also removable if it’s not needed.

Graco Milestone All-In-One Car Seat

  • Multi-stage car seat for newborns up to 12 years old.
  • Can be used rear-facing and forward-facing
  • Harness and headrest adjust together
  • 4 position seat recline
  • Removable and washable seat cover

  • It’s not an ISOFIX seat which means it doesn’t secure to the car’s chassis. It simply rests on the car seat with the adult seat belt around it.

The Graco Milestone All-In-One Car Seat is currently priced at £149.99 available from Halfords which is brilliant value. We can’t comment on the suitability of this car seat for younger children but from what we have seen, it’s a great choice for parents who only want to buy one car seat.

We have been using this car seat for Piglet in the rear facing position, I love that it will last her until she no longer requires a car seat. It is a shame that it isn’t ISOfix as I like to have that added security of knowing it is attached to the car rather than just the selt belt.

I’ve been looking at this seat lately as James is about to outgrow his current seat but not in the weight guidelines for a high backed booster. Sounds like it’s answer to our problems!
