What a busy week it’s been. Last Friday we were lent a Vauxhall Mokka from Lookers Vauxhall to review and we loved it. Such a lovely car to drive, plenty of space inside and rather speedy too! More about the Mokka to follow.
Last weekend, we went up to Manchester as I was going to Blog On, a blogging conference held at the Museum of Science and Industry. We decided to stay for a couple of nights up and enjoy some family time. Hubby took Olly to Legoland Discovery Centre whilst I was at the conference and they had a fabulous time. Olly couldn’t wait to tell me all about it in the car on the way back to the hotel and he’s been raving about it all week. I love that they had a great day together making memories.
On to this weeks #LittleLoves…
I’ve not had chance to read anything exciting this week. I’ve read plenty of children’s books at bedtime with our favourite of the week being ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance‘. Olly loves a story before bedtime, it’s something we’ve done together since he was a baby and we’ll carry on until he can read them to us.
This week I’ve managed to miss pretty much all the TV that I’ve enjoyed over the last few weeks. Earlier today, I managed to catch up with BBC1’s Undercover which is a good drama series and I’ve watched the American version of Bear Grylls The Island. I love watching these kind of reality TV programmes where the human race are tested. It’s amazing how people cope when they’re put under pressure.
On Sunday, I went to Blog On and loved it. Blog On is the only blogging conference held up north and it’s a great chance to mingle with blog friends, meet new people and chat to brands as well as picking up some tips, ideas and inspiration for taking our blogs further. It was a great day seeing people I hadn’t seen for ages and saying hello to fellow bloggers I have spoken to online but never had the chance to talk to. I sat in a couple of great talks. Emily Leary, of A Mummy Too, spoke about earning beyond the blog and she was really enthusiastic and really engaged the audience. We all learnt something from her and I’ll be updating various bits and pieces of blog kit over the next few months taking on board her advice.
After building the Wiplii Pirate Ship for Olly last week, he’s gone pirate bonkers this week. My Mom found a DIY pirate kit in a shop and bought it for him so earlier today I’ve been making pirate eye patches, hats and card treasure chests. All I heard all afternoon was “Shiver me timbers” and “Ahoy me hearties”, it was so cute to listen to!
I wore my black skinny jeans and top from Next to Blog On and felt really comfortable. I’m having a bit of a clothing crisis again as we jump towards Spring/Summer, I just don’t know what to wear for the weather so took a chance on the short sleeved top and jeans.
Although it’s been a very busy week, (I am blaming the bank holiday!), it’s been a lovely week with the family. It was my nephews birthday on Thursday. He had a fabulous afternoon at soft play with his friends and Olly was lucky enough to go as he was being looked after by my Mom as we were at work. He loved playing with my nephew and his school friends and although there’s five years difference between them all, Olly was having the time of his life joining in with their games. So lovely to watch!
We’ve got another busy weekend ahead, it’s my Nan’s 80th birthday next week so we’re seeing her for a birthday meal tomorrow and then hubby is away at Port Vale FC on Sunday for Walsall’s final home game of the season. It’s looking like they may make the Play Off’s so it’s all a bit tense at the moment!
