Hello Friday! I have been expecting you. We have had such a busy and tiring week. Olly still isn’t sleeping well and is waking up at least once a night (usually at 2am) and struggles to go back to bed on his own. Let me tell you, going to work to do a full 8 hours in the office is no fun! But, aside from the sleep deprivation, we’ve had a great week and crammed lots in. Here’s this weeks #LittleLoves
I’ve not had any energy to read anything this week unfortunately. I’ll try much harder next week, sleep pending!
Hubby and I watched the Eddie The Eagle movie at the weekend and really enjoyed it. I never realised how much he went through to get to the Olympics and prove everyone wrong. I actually met him back in the early 1990’s as he opened our new park. There’s a photograph to prove it, floating round at my Parents house somewhere. It’s got a great cast in it too and Hugh Jackman is very easy on the eye!
Over Easter, the lovely Wilko team sent us some baking goodies to get in the kitchen and bake up a storm. Time was against us and I completely forgot about getting our bake on so last Friday, we had the afternoon to ourselves to make some cakes. Olly wanted to make some Shaun the Sheep cupcakes so using the beautiful Mason Cash mixing bowl and measuring jug and piggy utensils that Wilko sent us, he whipped up the batter all by himself. He did really well. He didn’t make a mess and was so excited to see the cake batter turn into sponge.
How ace do these look? So simple and easy to do!

On Saturday I went to Blog Camp, a blogging conference in Birmingham. I saw lots of friends and met some new blogging chums and actually learned a thing or two. I sat in a couple of photography sessions that Tom Arber hosted and really enjoyed the content. I definitely want to get more hands on with my camera. I also heard the lovely Sarah from Taming Twins talk about the benefits of Pinterest and what Sarah doesn’t know about pinning isn’t worth knowing.
I also sat in the session with Emma from Aldi to Harrods who told us all about making a living from her blog. I found it really interesting and discovered I have a lot to learn about affiliate marketing!
I had bought some new clothes from Matalan and Dorothy Perkins for our holidays and wanted to see how they looked. Once I put on these beautiful floral trousers, I didn’t want to take them off! They are a little baggy but they fit well and I got so many lovely comments from my lovely friends, I love them! I feel like i’m always in jeans so trying to push my comfort zone a little and try something new.
It’s a quiet weekend in store for us in the Shilton household as hubby is off on our friends stag do. He’s away for three nights so I’m praying to anyone who will listen that Olly will sleep for me! We’re planning a trip to Thomas Land on Bank Holiday Monday but apart from that, it’s going to be a quiet one and it’s just what we need!
