The Island, Cheap Thrills and London #LittleLoves

It’s a delayed #LittleLoves for me today, it’s been a pretty rubbish week if I’m honest. Both hubby and I have been at work and it’s been exhausting! We have been battling with Olly to sleep through the night and have reached out to Baby Sleep Expert, Fi Star-Stone for her support in getting Olly back into a decent sleep routine and getting him to sleep through the night. He was waking up after a couple of hours and then staying wide awake until the early hours which wasn’t great for any of us. Three nights in of our new routine and so far so good, it’s going to change as we’re away in London for the weekend but we’re confident of putting the routine back in place when we return.

Here’s this week’s #LittleLoves..

I wrote about it last week but I started (and finished) the novel Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. I read it over 4 consecutive evenings and really enjoyed it. It didn’t make me cry though so not sure what that says about me and my heart of steel as everyone else who has read it said they sobbed!

This week I caught up with The Island with Bear Grylls on Channel 4 and really enjoyed it. There was a lady on there who had served over in Afghanistan and had a lost her lower leg when she stood on an explosive device. She was incredibly brave going on the island and never let the loss of her limb stop her from doing anything. Very inspirational.

This week at work we’ve had the radio on as it’s the Easter holidays and it’s great to listen to all the latest hits (yes, I realise I sound so very old!) Music perks everyone up and makes the day go much quicker. My favourite tunes from this week have included Cake By The Ocean by DNCE and Cheap Thrills by Sia.

This week we have enjoyed Szechuan Pork for dinner. It’s a delicious recipe packed with pork mince, peppers, baby corn and spring onion and instead of putting all the ingredients for the Szechuan sauce together myself, I bought the Sharwoods sauce pots which are quite low in syns and is pretty much instant for dinner. So quick and easy to make!

And lastly..

It was my lovely hubby’s birthday this week so we’ve come down to London for the weekend to enjoy a spot of sightseeing, seeing family and dinosaur spotting. We’re staying at an amazing 5 star hotel, I won the break via a blog post on my blog, and it’s just a little slice of luxury we have never had before (and completely free) it’s pretty amazing! Here’s the view from our suite over Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.
