Books, airplanes and stripy coats #LittleLoves

In a flash the first week of the Easter holidays have flown by. Hubby has had the last week off work on annual leave and I’ve enjoyed the long Bank Holiday weekend and then two days in work. It’s always hard leaving both hubby and Olly in bed when I go to work, they’re not asleep but enjoying lazy morning’s together. It’s good quality bonding time for them though and they both love each others company.

I’ve bought myself two new books this week, actual real life paper books and so far I’ve read three chapters of a book I’ve heard lots about; Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. Apparently it’s being made into a film so I want to read the book before it’s released. So far so good.

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Birmingham airport as Olly wanted to see some airplanes. It was a nice sunny afternoon and we saw lots of airplanes take off and land so Olly was really excited.

Unfortunately Olly managed to get a huge splinter in his hand so we had to do a bit of first aid after an emergency trip to Boots to buy tweezers but bless him, he was so brave!

I love listening to the radio first thing in the morning on the way to work in the car, it lifts my spirits and helps me get ready for work. I love the song Lush Life by Zara Larsson, it’s a feel good song!

Instead of buying an Easter Egg for Olly (he doesn’t eat much chocolate), we bought him some books and a craft kit. We saw this kit in Sainsburys and he loved it. He’s a bit of a Shaun the Sheep fan so loved putting this fella together with me. To be honest, it was a bloomin’ awful thing to do, the wool got absolutely everywhere!

I gave my new stripy Joules coat an outing on Easter Sunday and I love it but I’m a little gutted I didn’t buy the next size down as it’s too big! When I tried it on I only had a t-shirt on and I thought I would probably wear it with a jumper underneath so stupidly took the tag off thinking it would be roomy but alas it’s already too big. What a plonker!

And lastly..

We had a lovely Easter and I really enjoyed the four day weekend. I love spending time with my boys and love being able to get out, explore, see and do new things. When the sun shines and we all get some sleep, life is good!

Me before you literally made me full on sob when I read it, I have never read a book that has made me do that! I can’t wait for the film. x

I want to read that book. I know it will make me cry though! We love taking my toddler to Manchester airport. They really do love things like that at this age. Glad he was brave with the tweezers! x
