I am always so relieved to get to Friday. It’s my day off from work, just me and Olly, a chance to spend some quality time together just the two of us, an opportunity to get some of the jobs done around the house and to make plans and prepare for the weekend.
I’ve wanted to join in with #LittleLoves for a while but never had the chance to get involved. I’ve loved reading Morgana’s posts each week and decided to take part from now on.
I don’t read many books, to be honest the last time I read anything in book form was a Jodi Picoult novel back in 2014 when I was on holiday in the sunshine! I read a lot of blog posts though and a post that has stuck with me is from Julie of Rainbeaubelle as she approaches her fifth wedding anniversary without her husband Roger who passed away last year. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Julie and she’s such a lovely lady, her writing is beautiful so go check out her post.
On a Monday evening, my hubby goes out to play Darts leaving me with the bedtime routine and a whole evening to myself in front of the television. This week I’ve really enjoyed watching the new series Life At The Extreme hosted my girl crush Davina McCall. This week she dives in the water next to a huge sperm whale in the middle of the ocean and gets in a submarine to dive 1000 metres under the sea and gets to see a rare squid in all its glory. I love the emotion and how real Davina is in the programme, she made me giggle and I was in awe of her. I tweeted Davina on Tuesday morning and she replied! I was so giddy!
Olly and I have been enjoying the Little Mix album this week on our way home. Olly’s been (attempting) to sing all the words and it’s so lovely to hear him sing. He’s even been asking for the songs on repeat, he loves them so much!
I made a fabulous dinner the other night; slow cooker beef stew which is completely synfree and really filling. We made it overnight as I knew we wouldn’t have much time to cook before going to work and it was delicious.
On Tuesday evening I was crowned as my Slimming World groups Greatest Loser. I was given a sash to wear, a shiny sticker for my book and a certificate for the side of the fridge. I was really made up for winning the award in group and posed for photographs with my consultant.
I was given a wonderful bunch of flowers for Mothers Day including these wonderful tulips and it’s been wonderful to see them bloom this week. I love seeing flowers on the windowsill and rather grateful that I didn’t have to buy my own this week.
