It’s been a lovely weekend, I think the weather is beginning to catch up with the right season and spring has sprung. I love a bit of sunshine, although it is still quite chilly in the shade, the sunshine just makes everything look better. It’s so nice to see the blue sky too, almost forgot what it looked like!
Turning my attention to food and hubby and Olly did a basic food shop today for fresh fruit and salad bits for work lunches. We have a freezer full of meat, vegetables and potato-ey products so we’ve come up with a list to use up the meat and most of the vegetables this week.
I know this sounds awful but we really need to defrost the freezer too! When we had our new kitchen installed (nearly four years ago) we had an integrated freezer installed from Ikea. It replaced our fabulous frost free freezer which I really miss actually as it was huge! This is one of the grown up tasks you don’t learn about in school. I need to seriously defrost it as its starting to look very frosty!
The week ahead is a busy one as usual with our usual commitments so as long as we get the meat out the freezer we’ll be well away.
Lunches this week will be from the soupmaker. We’ve become rather fond of leek and potato soup and broccoli and potato soup as it’s so filling and keeps us satisfied until dinner time and it’s so easy and quick to do.
Breakfasts will be fruit with either a yogurt and a hifi light bar, fruit and fibre cereal with fruit or fruit and weetabix. I like to kick off my day with some fruit as it really helps my tummy.
