Blog On MOSI 2016 Ice Breaker

As a blogger, I love reading blogs and chatting to people on social media. Blogging has come on a long way since I started writing this blog back in 2008 and the community has grown to reflect that. There are now thousands upon thousands of blogs out there all covering a variety of topics and niches so when the blog conference season starts there are always bloggers who I don’t recognise but know of or recognise their twitter handle or blog name.

This year I’ll be going to Blog On MOSI in early May and thought I should join in with the ice breaker linky as a way to get my face out there to anyone who doesn’t know who I am. Going to a blog conference can be hugely daunting but everyone is usually very friendly and Blog On is one of the nicest atmospheres so if you see me, come and say hello, I’m very nice!

If you had to describe yourself in three words..

Friendly, honest and determined

How long have you been blogging and what made you start?

I started my blog back in 2008 as I wanted to diarise my weight loss journey to help me conceive; fast forward to now and the blog has documented my initial weightloss journey, a pregnancy, my Son’s early years,  our family life and again our struggles to conceive our last piece of our family puzzle with PCOS and an underactive thyroid whilst losing weight with Slimming World.

What was your favourite TV program as a child?

I loved loads of TV when was younger but I always remember watching Byker Grove after school!

Something interesting you might not know about me is..

I love football and I’ve supported West Bromwich Albion ever since I was a little girl. I used to go to the football matches with my Dad and my Grandad. I’ve got very happy memories of going to the footy with my Dad.

What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten?

I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to food. I don’t eat much fish and I’m not very adventurous at all!

What was your biggest fashion faux pas?

Oh I have far too many to mention! I loved the sporty spice look back in the late 90’s and wore adidas popper tracksuits pretty much all the time! *cringe*

What are you pet peeves?

Manners are free and far too many people forget to use them. It doesn’t matter who you are, it’s polite to say please and thank you.

Who would be your 3 perfect dinner party guests (dead or alive) and why?

I would love a dinner party with Adam Levine (Maroon 5) Holly Willoughby and Olly Murs.

If they made a movie of your life, what would it be about and which actor would play the part of you?

My movie would be really boring. Although I quite like the idea of having Rebel Wilson as my body double, ha!

If you could live in any sitcom, which one would it be?

I would love to live in Friends. I’ve never been to New York so that would be pretty cool and I would have loved to have lived with friends. I lived with my friends when I was at university which I loved but would have loved to experience the work life v friends balance in a shared house.

Name a famous person you have met?

I’ve met quite a few. Luckily I’ve met a few through my blog. Most notably, last year I met Fearne Cotton and Greg Rutherford.

Which social media platform best describes your personality and why?

I love twitter. It’s a massive platform and there’s so many people on there from all walks of life and it doesn’t matter who you are, you can talk to your best mate or a celebrity. It’s great for quick, instant reaction too!

What picture do you have on lock screen on your phone / computer?

It’s a picture of my gorgeous boy who reminds me every minute of every day why I’m working hard and doing what I’m doing.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Not that many to be honest. My whole shoe collection only has about 20 pairs!

What period of time from the past would you most like to have lived?

I would have loved to have lived in the early twenties. I love the historical dramas from that era and the outfits were amazing. I’d obviously be a well off lady with helpers not a pauper living in a house with a pig (probably the latter if I’m honest)

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would absolutely love to travel to Australia. I’d love to go out and explore the countryside, the desert and the cities.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Justin Bieber’s latest album!

What is your favourite tipple?

Most definitely a Pimms and lemonade with cucumber and strawberry.

If you had a magic lamp and a Genie, what would be your three wishes?

My three wishes would be 1) to have a second baby, a sister or brother for Olly and to complete our family 2) to be another three stone lighter 3) to have non-greying blonde hair

I’m linking up with the Blog On Ice Breaker linky and would love to see you there!
