Review: Muddy Puddles Snow Flurry Ski Jacket

With the weather decidedly cold and wintery, Muddy Puddles offered to send Olly a Muddy Puddles Snow Flurry Ski Jacket for our weekend adventure on the Lancashire coast. They had heard that we were planning on spending an afternoon on the beach whatever the weather and thought that their Snow Jacket would make the afternoon a dry and warm one!

Snow Flurry Ski Jacket

Our first impressions of the Snow Flurry Ski Jacket are really good. We were sent a purple Ski Jacket which is 5000mm waterproof (basically no water is getting through the outer of this jacket) and has a microfleece lining for additional warmth. I really like that it’s windproof meaning Olly stayed really warm on the beach.

Not restrictive

The Ski Jacket is fully breathable which allows little legs to run around enjoying themselves without getting too sweaty and uncomfortable. Olly spend a couple of hours on the beach shell hunting and playing in the sand and he was really comfortable in the jacket. It wasn’t restrictive and he could run, bend down and play in it with ease.

Lots of features

The Snow Flurry Ski Jacket has some brilliant features which are intended for the ski slopes however a freezing cold sunny beach is another good test to put the coat through its paces. There’s a zip out snow gaitor which lets you secure your little one into the coat and ensure that nothing gets up in to the coat if they fall over. This was tested by Olly on the sand which we all know gets absolutely everywhere and I’m pleased to say the sand didn’t make it past the gaitor.

There’s also pockets with zips and press-studs, a thumb hole and adjustable cuffs making it easy to customise the fit of the coat for the child. It’s also worth noting there’s a little pocket on the arm of the jacket, intended for ski passes but in Olly’s case, rescued shells and snotty tissues!

We especially love the reflective strips and logos for additional visibility as we walked home from the beach after sunset and Olly was visible as we walked along the pavement next to the road. Olly didn’t use the hood much over the weekend as it was brilliantly sunny and he wore his woolly hat to keep his head warm but had it of rained or even snowed, he would have used it to keep dry. I love that it has a removable hood with fur trim (which is also removable) so again you can customise the ski jacket to suit the situation and it makes the coat really versatile. The Ski Jacket is also washable at 30 degrees which is great news for Parents of little ones who love to get hands on in muddy puddles and wet sand.

Muddy Puddles Snow Flurry Ski Jacket

The Snow Flurry Ski Jacket retails at £59 which is probably above our usual budget for a winter coat. Having said that if we were going skiing on the slopes or visiting a very cold climate, we would pay the price to keep Olly warm and dry. We would definitely keep the coat once Olly’s grown out of it in the hope that any future siblings can wear it so we’d definitely get our monies worth.

Overall, we are really impressed with the Muddy Puddles Snow Flurry Ski Jacket. It kept Olly warm and dry on the beach and he was more than happy to stay out in the cold building sandcastles.

I love the sound of this coat, perfect for the slopes or the British weather on the coast. It’s a little expensive but the quality looks fantastic.

It looks like a great coat – Toby has got a raincoat from Muddy Puddles that we love but this ski jacket definitely looks very cosy! Olly looks like he’s comfortable in it too, and I love the purple – my favourite colour! #TriedTested
