Meal Planning Sunday 7/2016

Meal Planning Sunday

It’s half term this week but this is the first school holiday of the year where it doesn’t really affect us anymore. Hubby no longer has the holidays off and we’re managing childcare with the help of our Parents. I work in a school but all year round so although the roads are much quieter with no school run and the phones are much quieter, there’s still plenty of work to do.

This weekend we were away for a few days in St Anne’s on Sea (I’ll be sharing photographs later in the week) and so we booked an online food shop to arrive late on Sunday night. We always run out of fresh food towards the end of the week and as we were away we didn’t get any more fresh food in.

This week we’ll be eating on plan as usual. I made a huge batch of Scotch Broth soup for work lunches this week and it used up the last of the carrots, onions and celery which always look a bit sorry for themselves at the end of the week but are absolutely perfect for soups. I love being able to use up food and not see it go to waste, I always feel like we’re throwing good money away if we have to bin stuff.

Here is what’s on the menu this week..

Spaghetti Bolognese
Chicken Curry with boiled rice
Campfire Stew
Sausage and mashed potatoes with vegetables
Chicken Chow Mein Stir Fry
Stuffed Omelettes
Healthy grill up / all day breakfast

We need to get the recipe books out again for next weekend as we seem to be eating the same type of meals. I love getting the books out and rediscovering all the meals we can enjoy on SW. I’ve got the new SW magazine for inspiration too. Definitely going to have a look and make a list of meals we want to try and cook again.

What are you eating this week?

I recommend trying the SW chilli beef noodles. Were easy to make and tasted like a take away.

Love the look of your meal plan, it looks like exactly the kind of thing we eat on a regular basis too. I also hate food waste and love that feeling of finding a way to turn something that’s past it’s best into a tasty dinner :)
