After managing half the week last week without a cooker, I’m delighted that we’ve had a new one delivered and installed. It’s amazing how we take these things for granted. I know we didn’t struggle for meals last week and we ate on plan but it’s not something I’d like to be without. I missed my boiled eggs last week and Olly had to give his pasta a miss for a few days (seriously he’ll turn into a piece of pasta, the amount he eats).
This week, on Meal Planning Sunday, we’ve planned our meals as usual around the stuff we have left in the freezer and in the cupboards. Hubby was a star and went shopping this morning to stock up on fresh fruit and salad bits for our lunches as well as some stocks for my scotch broth and leek and potato soup I’m hoping to make later on today.
Here’s what we’re eating this week;
- SW Chicken Korma with boiled rice
- Gammon steaks with SW chips, egg and pineapple
- SW Burgers with salad (and chips for the boys)
- SW Szechuan pork with noodles
- Creamy Chicken Pasta (a new SW recipe for us to try)
- Meatballs, mashed potato and vegetables (I’ll have the SW ones and the boys will have the real deal)
Last week we had a yummy roast dinner with my Parents and Sister at our local Crown Carvery which was enjoyed by all and we also enjoyed an evening out at our local Brewers Fayre to celebrate a month into hubby’s new job and the longest ever we’ve had to wait for payday! We’re off out to Beefeater later for another review, which I am hugely grateful for given our finances at the moment (buying a new cooker isn’t cheap especially after Christmas!) so please pop back and have a read of those reviews if you’re looking for somewhere family friendly to take the kids in February.
