It’s Christmas Eve Eve and I can’t wait to switch off the laptop and spend some time snuggled up with Olly and my hubby on the sofa and let our Christmas movie marathon commence. This year we have bought some new films to watch along including Nativity, Arthur Christmas and The Polar Express to name just a few and it isn’t Christmas without watching Santa Clause The Movie.
I think we’re finally ready for Christmas. The decorations are all up, the gifts are wrapped, all the Christmas cards have been posted and delivered and we’ve been food shopping. What isn’t bought isn’t worth thinking about now and if I’ve forgotten anything then it’s tough quite frankly, we don’t need it!
Yesterday we had our nephew staying for a sleepover which Olly loved and we spent the afternoon doing some Christmas crafts, getting the finger paints out and having some fun. We tried to do a couple of Pinterest style crafty things but I’m sure people only pin the images of crafts they’ve done themselves (and not the kids!) as ours didn’t look like they should at all. Perhaps a Pinterest fail post is in the pipeline!
These little finger print cards turned out well though and the boys loved making them.
As well as some crafts, I found time to rustle up some Slimming World mince tarts for taster night in group last night and I was so pleased with them. They came out really well and everyone who tried one said they were really nice. I definitely want to do more baking next year.
So we are all set for Christmas and I can’t wait for the magic of the next few days to see Olly’s face when he sprinkles the magic reindeer food on the patio outside our house and wakes up Christmas morning to see that Santa Clause has been and has left him a treat or two!
I hope you all have a wonderful time with your loved ones, toast to those who cannot be with us this year and offer a thought to those who are working over Christmas.
Wishing all my friends, family and readers of this little corner of the internet a very Happy Christmas.. x
