Living Arrows 2015 – Week 47

Living Arrows – Week 47

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” – Khalil Gibran

On late Friday evening we saw our first fluttering of snow. It wasn’t much at all but it was the first of the season and although it had gone when we woke up on Saturday morning, it leaves a little bit of hope that we might see a bit more over the next few weeks in the lead up to Christmas.

Christmas is going to be fantastic this year. At 33 months old, Olly is becoming more aware of what Christmas is. Of course he doesn’t really understand why or what we’re celebrating but he is familiar with Father Christmas and has been asking for lots of presents. The television adverts on the Children’s TV channels are very clever but hugely annoying for parents!

Our house is resembling a bit of a warehouse at the moment with a collection of cardboard boxes gathering sporadically around the house. There’s new boxes of Christmas decorations waiting patiently to be hung on the tree, rolls of wrapping paper ready to be used and then there’s the Christmas stash of chocolate.

Lindt very kindly sent me some delicious Christmas chocolates and this weekend, Olly found the box that I had put all the Christmas chocolates in and was intrigued with what was inside. To be honest, I was surprised it had lasted this long. He noticed the shiny gold wrapping of the Lindt chocolate teddy bear and as soon as he lifted the chocolate bear out of the box, he saw the red ribbon around the bear’s neck and claimed it for himself. I’m not really sure how he knew it was chocolate as he’s not unwrapped one before but he’s very observant and he’s probably seen me unwrap one of the smaller chocolate bears.

Intrigue got the better of him and he riffled through the box and found more Lindt chocolates. I’m going to have to find some better hiding places now he’s becoming more interested in boxes filled with goodies and treats.

The chocolate teddy bear remains untouched for now but I’m sure it won’t be long until Olly fancies nibbling his ear off!

Love that first one, that is similar to my face too when someone gives me Lindt chocolate! :) It’s so nice when they start to be aware of what it going on, Lucas was so excited last year then was ill over Christmas so I’m really looking forward to this year #livingarrows

Lovely photo. N’s the same looking through boxes and parcels. He’ll search under the bed for the present box, but all the Christmas stuff is just in bags in the bedroom. I just said no, and thankfully he’s stayed away…better willpower (or forgetful) than I had as a child. I was in everything!

Aww he does look like he’s certain there must be something he’s missing! But yay for snow and nearly Christmas – I love the festive banner!

His face is a picture! This Christmas really is going to be the best – Little Mr and our T are at a great age to really make the most of it – I can’t wait! x

He’s doing a really good “wow – chocolate!” face! Sounds like you are excited about Christmas too – nearly 3 is a magical age!

Mmmm I love Lindt chocolate. I’m glad the chocolate teddy got to live another day… I think he’d better make the most of it though. Olly will give into temptation eventually! :) xx
