And in the blink of an eye, the summer of 2015 is over. The usual routine starts again on Monday morning and the plans for the Autumn term kick off.
Looking back, we’ve had a wonderful summer and crammed quite a bit in over the last 8 weeks. We had a wonderful holiday to Weymouth and explored the south coast. We ate the best fish and chips on Chesil Beach, we enjoyed a day of building sandcastles and digging moats in the sand on Weymouth beach, we all enjoyed a paddle in the sea at West Beach and got sandblasted by the wind in Bournemouth.
The scenery on the coast is absolutely breathtaking. Our favourite afternoons were spent at Durdle Door and Portland Bill. Looking out to the ocean is such a release, I’d really love to live by the sea one day.
Our week in Weymouth was fantastic and we really enjoyed spending time with each other. We all ate far too many ice creams and I may have enjoyed half the cocktail list from the bar at the caravan site!
On our return home, we visited Bristol Zoo and took in sights of the city aboard a sightseeing bus. Little Mr had his first sleepover with his cousin and they both slept remarkably well.
We also spent the day at Packwood House in Warwickshire exploring the follies and the lake. The boys love each others company, they wind each other up and Little Mr just adores his cousin. I hope they remain best of friends for a lifetime, they have such a special relationship.
Little Mr and I were able to spend the day with some brilliant friends at Rushmere Country Park. It was so great to see my good friend Lucy and her son Bert as well as other friends we have met through the amazing blogging community.
And we got to spend the day at Thomas Land as a family enjoying all the rides and having one last fun day out of the Summer.
We’ve also been able to spend time with family this summer and enjoyed a fantastic few days in Lincolnshire with my Grandparents, Parents, my Sister and nephew. We had a great weekend with lots of giggles and enjoyed watching the most amazing sunsets from around the fire pit.
It was such a fun weekend and it was lovely to have some quality time with my sister as we drew the short straw and had to do the washing up after dinner. As there was nine of us around the dinner table, there was quite a lot of plates, cutlery, mugs and glasses but thanks to Ecover who sent us a sample of their new and improved washing up liquid, we got the job done quite quickly and the washing up was done for another day.
We’ve had such a fantastic summer. I’ve taken a billion photographs to print off and frame and have a heart full of treasured memories. I have loved spending time with family and friends and really wish the summer could have lasted a little longer. I’m pretty gutted it’s over so time to make plans for the autumn and make some more memories.
