Living Arrows – Week 39
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” – Khalil Gibran
It may officially be autumn but we’ve been enjoying some rare September sunshine here in the West Midlands so of course when it’s lovely outside, we like to spend as much time as we can outdoors.
This weekend has been a really productive one. On Saturday, hubby went to the football so Little Mr and I went shopping for house bits and pieces and then went to buy some shrubs for the front of our house. I am completely clueless about gardening, it’s something I’ve never really thought about but as a homeowner, I wanted to ‘tart’ the front of the house up a bit.
Little Mr and I trawled around B&Q looking at all their plants and shrubs and left with a trolley full of pretty green, blue and orange foliage and a lighter bank balance. As we got home, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent the next two hours planting them. Little Mr loved to join in and didn’t mind getting his hands dirty. He loved picking up the compost and filling up the pots. At one point he had compost all over his face, I wish I had my camera out with me but he wasn’t bothered he just loved helping out.
The highlight of Little Mr’s weekend was not the visit to the garden centre or another trip to B&Q but a ride out with his Daddy in trike to the park. My hubby doesn’t get chance to spend much time with Little Mr throughout the week as he’s at work so it’s always lovely for them both to spend some quality time together on a weekend.
