Living Arrows – Week 38
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” – Khalil Gibran
After a wonderful night away in London, it was lovely to get back to my boys. I miss spending time with them both during the week and especially miss my gorgeous boy. I’ve been feeling really guilty of late that I have to go to work and spend eight hours a day away from him. Snatching just twenty precious minutes with him in the morning before he’s dropped off at his Grandparents and then up to just three hours with him in an evening before he goes to bed. Weekend time with him is so so precious and I love spending time with him, making him laugh and him in turn making me laugh and amazing me with new things he’s learnt.
This week we spent an hour at our activity class ‘Move with Peppa’ and he was so well behaved. It’s a small class with only eight children in it and this week Little Mr was the only boy in the class. The girls in the class are of similar age and it’s so interesting to see their behaviour when they’re all together. The instructor asked the children to do various activities such as stand on their muddy puddles, pretend to drive a car, hop and skip around the room, kick the football and pass a bean bag around in a circle. Little Mr listened intently and carried out the moves brilliantly.
We had a giggle and after ten minutes of running around he told me he was “getting a little bit sweaty Mummy” and that’s the joy of the class. He’s having a whale of a time, making friends and moving around being active. All of which he’ll replicate when he’s at home no doubt.
After the class as I was putting Little Mr in his car seat, one of the Mums came over to me and told me how well behaved Little Mr was and that I should be very proud. What a lovely thing to say! I was really pleased she had taken the time to comment on his behaviour and we hear it from family on occasion but it’s different when a complete stranger comes and tells you that your Sons behaviour is brilliant especially when all the girls around him are ignoring instructions and running around without a care in the world. Proud Mummy moment right there!
