The one with the post holiday gain

Last week I was away on holiday with my boys in beautiful Dorset. We had a wonderful week in the sunshine exploring the South coast and it was just blissful. We crammed a lot in and I have over 600 photographs to share with you at some point including a very Great British day at the seaside, a moment feeling like we were the only people on earth on Portland island with the most amazing lighthouse, Portland Bill in the background and discovering West Bay, home to the ITV drama Broadchurch, has a ridiculously pebbley beach which made me feel queasy!

We were sensible whilst we were away and did a supermarket food shop as we arrived. I planned out my breakfasts and portioned up my cereals in to 35g bags and we bought food in for SW friendly lunches and some of our evening meals. We knew that we were going to be eating out a few nights and had planned to go to Pizza Express for our wedding anniversary and have fish and chips on the beach (it’s the rules!)

Even though my breakfasts were on plan and my lunches were yummy, I enjoyed my evening meals which probably weren’t that SW friendly but I was on holiday and I was going to treat myself. I didn’t say no to ice creams when the chance arose, the Marshfield Farm ice cream is amazing and definitely a taste to savour.

I also enjoyed one too many cocktails in the Caravan Club bar, all of which came with Disco Ducks to Little Mr’s delight. I drank more alcohol on holiday than I have in a very long time and it definitely showed on the scales this evening.

I gained 6.5lb! Wow, hell of a gain but my holiday was worth it. I had a fantastic week with my boys and I’m still 3 dress sizes smaller than I was on my holiday this time last year.

It’s back to basics this week, I want to get the majority of that gain off so I can smash that 5 stone award and then some!
